Little downey from this weekend.

And a red shafted flicker. Any other's out there?
-
Different angle, the reds are the coolest IMO. Anyone have a Pileated?

Thank God this post turned out to be about what it turned out to be about!

Nice! Has to be my favorite bird. I remember as a kid, we had a huge snag on the back 40 that was nothing but a hollow log, I would keep an eye out nearly every day in the Spring, waiting for that one day when I'd hear that unmistakable call coming from that snag, or seeing a head sticking out when the showed up to nest. Never missed a year.

What kind is this? I see him every day.

That's an awesome photo of a red-breasted sapsucker. Great job!
