Looks like you had a good season. You got me by only a few birds this season. I was about 80 birds off from last years count. Good job.
Thanks for clarifying h20fowlr. I was wondering where you ended up. Definately more than my 14 ducks. :tung:
You both a duck/goose killing machines and make many of us envious. :twocents:

Thats a lotta ducks!
HOWS YOUR HEARING?
Hows your cholesterol?
Where the heck is your dog?
Do you now have a big bump on the finger bone that sets just behind the trigger guard? Mine took about a year to go down a few years ago. I even filed down the rear of my triggerguard to paper thin to gain some more space.
The photos look nice. Glad to see everyone with happy, content smiles. :)
Congratulations.

HOWS YOUR HEARING?
Hows your cholesterol?
Where the heck is your dog?
The constant ringing in my ears is slowly retreating, I imagine it will never be the same though lol
Idk bout the cholesterol but celebration mcgridles were not uncommon :chuckle: although it seemed as if I put as many miles on in my boots as in my truck :o so Im prolly good.
As for the dog, "otter" is right here guess I should have included her in the previous post

Start wearing the hearing protection. I didn't wear them at your age. In H.S. I would typically only miss a few days out of the season during waterfowl season. I was at it everyday. I could walk, drive or ride my bike to all my hunting spots. They were close to my house. Lots of shells were shot. I know have permanent ringing in my left ear. It doesn't go away. 24/7. It sucks.

Shooting all those ducks and you still feel the need to shoot hens....such a shame! :bash:
Weren't you the guy trashing guys on another site for doing the very same thing? :dunno:

Lol dude are you serious? your gonna flip him *censored* for shooting hens, Im pretty sure he has never talked down about someone for shooting hens because there isn't anything wrong with it, as long as you are following the regs you wont be hunting the populations.
If its brown its down...most of the time, depends on the day :chuckle:
-
Maybe you should visit the refuge and check out his posts there. I don't see anything wrong with shooting a few hen mallards, I do it myself. However, if you're going to shoot 488 ducks in a season, I would think that one might give a little thought to conserving the resource, especially when there is a restricted limit on them. I'm really surprised that no one has mentioned the term 'game hog' here. I guess it shows what the mentality is of the guys that frequent this site is. Let's face it, he's young and if 'pops' isn't going to teach him ethics, it has to come from somewhere else.
-
I don't see what your getting at, he hunts a lot of days during the season, and has places to consistatly kill limits of ducks. Wouldn't you do the same? I understand the hen thing, but what difference does it make if he shoots them, or you or I do?
-

HOLY SH$T!!! man are you kidding me???.....you are going to call me a game hog just because I love the sport of waterfowling and Im taking advantage of my situation of being young and close to prime hunting grounds (hunting everyday).....you really must be jealous....my "pops" has taught me well as you can see in the above pics in fact he is proudly standing right next to me after mornings of memorable hunts. Not sure what your deal is man, I hunt nearly everyday of the season and have became fairly successful at it, I shoot my limit, no birds are wasted, everything is legal, where does bad ethics come in?
How dare you, #1 call me a game hog , #2 dis my father by stating that he never taught me ethics, and #3 tell me that I'm un-ethical...
Get a life man...
-
wow that dude is a goober. Good job on the successfull season Whacker keep it up. I wouldn't even give this guy the privilege of a responce. Take the high road man, be the better man. Someone just cant handle the fact that another hunter was a little more successfull. :twocents:
-
Great season KW! I used to do the same thing when I was younger growing up in the Palouse. We used to keep a dry erase on the refrigerator and tally the annual take. It would get a little scary sometimes! :chuckle:
Take advantage of the opportunity while you can. Thanks for sharing the pics!
-
Successful season yes! But what the heck is a person going to do with 480 ducks? 50 ducks is all I can deal with for a year. I used to have a lot of time to hunt ducks too but would always stop when I thought I had enough for the year.
-
Ignore the haters KwackWacker, I killed more then 50 ducks this year and it would seem that's wrong to some. Not me. And my family taught me just fine. When I look at your posts it seems like you're mostly killing green anyways. I try to only shoot males too, but sometimes I'm wrong and get a hen or two. Plus, hens eat just as good.
I don't know you, but as long as you are hunting legally, then the haters can go pound sand.
-
Oh, and Goober, rarely does someones screen name sum them up so well....
-

Well, since you need it explained to you...One, just because it is legal to kill 488 birds, that doesn't make it ethical to kill 488 birds. However, that isn't my point. I think it is good that you have a spot where you can hunt everyday and shoot alot of ducks. However, since you DO have that opportunity to shoot so many ducks, why pound the hens? With all of the hens in your pictures, I think that we all know that those aren't occassional mistakes. Since hens are considered to be in need of protection, I think an ETHICAL hunter would avoid them even if it means that "The Great White Hunter" has to go home a little short of a limit.
Let's face it, just because a couple of guys come on here and give you a little pat on the back, don't think that the rest of us think that you're a 'hero'.
If you want to impress us, take the challenge to go all next season without shooting a hen mallard. Do that and I'll be the first one to give you a pat on the back. And yeah, I'm sure you forgot, but it was you that was talking trash to a guy about shooting hens, when he posted up a picture of birds shot in Canada in the 70's.
And regarding the puffy chest 'how dare you' comment...mind your place junior, you're still way too wet behind the ears to challenge an adult with that attitude!
For Ellensburgpo, I chose that screen name just so I would be on the same level as guys like you. There's a big difference in shooting the number of ducks that you do, with a hen or two, and shooting 488 ducks with the number of hens in his pictures.
It's all about enjoying the resource and preserving it at the same time. If you can't grasp that concept, I'll be happy to relinquish my screen name so that you can adopt it.

Is that all on public land?
Yes sir :IBCOOL:
Liar.

You are absolutely correct Sundance, just about every pic posted here gets some sort of negative response.
I gave up posting pics in this forum over a year ago. I post one this season as a joke and it got the expected responses. Pretty sad.
-
:beatdeadhorse: Wow, if you dont have anything nice to say, then you probably should :stfu:. It's really sad how the the waterfowl section of this site seems to turn into heated arguements and acusations. Really make me rethink posting pics here because people will just nitpic them and bash. Congrats to Kwack for an amazing season, one I could only dream of. Last year I did ok but this year didnt go out but 8 times since I got my elk and deer in the freezer. As for the negative nancy's here, why dont you post a few pics of your hunting?

Why call him a liar? If you hunted alot and were proficient at scouting and an avid waterfowler you could easily do as well as Kwakwacker on public land in Washington... keep it to yourself...good hunting Kwack

Well... what do you do with a deer and an elk and a turkey and then ducks, quail, pheasant, chukar, salmon etc.? The guy said nothing goes to waste. Maybe he makes a lot of fajitas, peperoni, jerky etc? Maybe he eats a couple of roast mallards everynight? Maybe he makes peperoni and gives it away at work or school? Lots of ways to use up ducks...
-
Nice pics dude! Thanks for posting.
-
I and family eat alot of the birds by smoking/bbq them, but you're right thats alot of birds to eat...so I give them to those who need them the most. I donate alot of meat throughout the season the local mission where it is greatly appreaciated.
and yes the birds are public land.....I hunted alot of days and did alot of scouting to stay on the birds, we also got lucky and had a steady ammount of freeze ups and thaws/flooding to supplement fresh conditions throughout the season presenting me with prime oppurtunty...next year is a whole new story
mind your place junior, you're still way too wet behind the ears to challenge an adult with that attitude!
Hmmm well you sure dont act like an adult with you're previous posts..... :P
And goober once again there is nothing un-ethical about shooting hens within the legal limits.....
And Im definatley not aiming to impress you

As a hunter you go in and out of stages as you get older.. You will grow out of the numbers counts and the shooting of hens.. What you should learn from this is that not everyone thinks your as awesome as you think you are.. PLENTY of people shoot a ton of ducks every year but a few really care to talk numbers.. Collecting several days limits then piling them in the back of the truck pulled up to the same spot in your back yard gets really old! Share more aspects of the hunt in both pictures and text. Talk about changes you made that worked or didnt in gear and tactics....Many of the best picture post including dead ducks talk very little about numbers and share more of the hunt... Take T-Rips posts as an example use them to help mentor you into an enjoyable picture person....Heat those benellis up but also grow up and go make some real friends to share your memories with not a bunch of internet strangers.

To be honest with everyone here i dont think madison has ever even gone hunting, all he does is criticize people on here about their hunting trips when not once have i ever seen pics on here from him going hunting!
-
yes that is it. I kill no birds because i don't brag on the internet. :o
well said drk.
it is a simple fact that not all the birds he killed this year were on public ground. No judgment either way, just a fact.
-
Hey KW, nice pics man! And don't let the haters bring down your SPECTACULAR season. As long as you did it legally and within the regulations, more power to you. I DREAM of a life that allows me to hunt 70+ times a year like you did. GOOD JOB :twocents:
