Title: More bear in town... Big Lake/Lake McMurray
Post by: Bscman on May 08, 2008, 09:19:33 PM: Had a buddy call me up last week after *supposedly* seeing a "big bear" running across the road on his way to work (Half way between Big Lake and Little Mountain). He claimed it sauntered slowly across the road and he watched it disappear into the brush about 50yds up the hill.

In the Skagit Valley Herald tonight there was an article regarding a bear sighting in Lake McMurray....local says it was in his neighbors yard, and estimated it to be around 300lbs.

I guess they're waking up after-all. :)

Post by: edmondshunter on May 11, 2008, 05:21:28 PM: I used to go to Fire Mnt. Boy Scout camp up in those parts and we say lots of black bears. Cultas Mnt. and Walker valley also had a few. Granted that was 15 years ago, but obviously they are still around those parts
