got the new savage axis today from cabelas took it out and shot pretty good the actions reel smooth had to do a little scope adjusting , did three shots and a hit with in a dime at 100 yards , cant beat the set up for the price all in all i think savage has a winner in my book, the scopes arnt to bad the clip did feed the shell with out any problems .

I've only handled one of those and I thought it was great, that stock looks good enough to sell by itself!

the stocks aren't to bad mines the 30/06 . shoots real good

I have one in .308.  Haven't shot it yet... plan to in the next month or so.  It has an EGW one-piece base and Federal Intensity 4-12x44 scope.  Put it together as a back-up rifle for deer camp.  If it shoots as good as I hope, it will get a lot of use.
