Looking to breed my lab. I'm looking for a silver lab to breed my chocolate lab to. Her dad was a pure bred silver lab and her mother a chocolate. Also wondering what stud fees are going for. I would like to breed to a stud that has champion lines, and is a hunting dog, with a mellow personality and temperament. I also would prefer a stud that doesn't sit in a kennel as they may have the kennel cough virus and could be determental to my lab. I would be looking to breed her at this time next year, but kinda want to figure things out now. Thanks.

Yes a silver lab. It is a new color for the lab family. Go to Double eagle number one Labrador's and you can see the silvers there. My pup dad is nugget on there. There are a very beautiful color for labs. I want my pup to have chocolate and silvers, not interested in black or yellows.They are also coming out with a champange color as well.

Interesting...the reason I asked is I have a beautiful 1+ year old lab that is silvery looking,he's black but when the light hits him he looks silver,my vet even thought he had white hairs.
He is real mellow and turning out to be a great hunter,defiantly a dog of a life time,I decided to keep him intact in case I find the right bitch to breed him with,just so I can have one of his off spring.

Is he akc registered and if he is look back and see where his lines go. My pup is 1 1/2yrs to she is mellow and a great hunter. She is registered and her genetics are guranteed. I'd be interested to breed to a blacky, but would want to know the lineage. My girl had retrieved upwards of 200 birds her first year out and like you a dog of lifetime. The breeder I got her from is the one I posted, she is in kalispell,mt. Drove over and got her, well worth every penny. I am looking to start breeding and selling the pups.

Yes akc registered,both his parents were on sight and checked out his history with good hips and eyes.I will get back to you with more on his history and pics if you want via email.
One thing to note is Sage has a white star on his chest,which is not desirable for showing purposes which i'm sure you know.

Yes I do know that's not desirable. I'm not looking to sell show dogs rather hunting dogs. I'll send ya pm with my info.

Page 2 of waterfowl not bad for a half hour, by shadowcat. That is my pup. And page 5 in photography under pics of my bird dogs are a couple more pictures of her. That's good he has a soft mouth. I kinda worried about mine cause she bite down on the dummys and left holes in the canvas ones, but has never puctured a bird, well other than that a duck bit her on the nose and she bit its head off, which was rather funny to watch. She no longers leaves holes in the canvass dumies. She is also not afraid to go after wounded geese. She plows right through them. All in all she is one of the best I've seen out hunting and she has no professional training. Trained her myself and she does blind retrieves out to about 600yds.

Wish you'd have posted this 2 weeks ago. Fixed my akc registered purebred chocolate 10 days at age 5, just to help prevent prostate problems and I hear it's better for their hips.

Yeah it is good for there hips. My pup just came into her second heat cycle and wanted to get something set up for next year. I was waiting to post anything till she came into heat so that way I would know just about the date in may she would come in. She had her first in nov. and I wrote down the date, so I could figure out within a day or two when she would be in heat this nov. and may. I'm looking at next may, as I want her to be two and not in the middle of goose season. I plan to breed her once a year till she is 5 1/2yrs old and then I will fix her. She is supposed to be able to throw silver pups. Which my boy wants a silver and I do too so I can have a silver to breed after I fix my pup. She still needs her hips, elbows and eye cert., I know she will pass and can't do that till she is two.

Stud fee is usually pick of the litter or the price of a pup whatever they chose unless he is a true champion then your looking at thousands of dollars all relative to what the pups will go for

Yeah that's what I figured. I am looking for some champion lines as that is where my pup lines are. She's not your regular $300 dog, she cost more than that. I being pretty picky as to who I breed her to. I have thought about getting my pup into some comp. hunts and maybe try for the Kalispell Champion Hunt, just an idea. Figure I could ask a little more $$$$$.

The silver labs are mostly chocolate in lineage. And are considered chocolate by the AKC.

Yes I do know that, but I like the silver color and prefer to have silvers and chocolate. There is breeders working on making it so you can ack reg. the silvers. And the akc will eventually as they just included the Plot Hound into their hound category and are now registrable.

Come on guys. there has to be somebody. I'm willing to pay stud fees. You can also take a look at my papers on her and see the linage. My only deal is that my boy really wants the first silver pup outta her.

ill ask my friend this weekend.............He raises champion lab show breeds.....They would be awesome........ill talk to my friend and see if his brother would be down with it....

in my pups litter we had the bitch get breed by a hound, then his lab got ahold of her too :chuckle:. one of the pups came out lookin like a lab, when he got older he was extra mean from what i saw but i dont think he would've had much endurance

I need a stud. I have the bitch. That would be cool Aj, let me know. She comes from champion lines and would like to breed to a champion line stud.

He's not chocolate but he is beautiful. I just bred my Yellow to him. the owner said if he likes one of the pups from my litter he wont charge me. I can give him a call later tonight and find out if he would be interested, in breeding to your bitch.

Do you know what his blood lines are? Who's his sire and dam are and his he akc registered? Has he been hip, eye and elbow certified or atleast hip and eye? He's definitly a good looking stud.

I will get the info posted asap. I know he is registered, and certified hips. I am not sure of the bloodlines or if the eyes and elbows are certified. I am waiting for him to call back.

Too bad you're not looking for a yellow. I have a 7-year-old MYL, goods lines out of Trieven Kennels in Wyoming, EXCELLENT hunter, very mellow, fantastic house dog but turns on the juice when it comes to waterfowl, exceptional drive, excellent swimmer (very big/strong dog).

If you're looking for coloration, may not work. If you're looking for good genes and quality hunting pups, then that's a difference story...
