Not sure if you're talking east or west, but the Tricities area would be a good place to start on the eastside...  The pic is from last year's opener.

I wouldn't hunt this spot they slaughtered all that had existed at this location.   :chuckle:
As mentioned beaver ponds, back waters, flooded timber.  Creeks that run through wooded areas.  You will find them.

If you put your location in your profile, people on this site that are in your area also could answer your question.

:chuckle: I think you got every single wood duck that ever existed in tri-cities that day. So i would advise to not go there, by the looks of that pic, there isnt any left.

THere are woodducks spread out throughout the state, but I don't know of many places with good consintrations. I have an idea of where they shot them at in the Tri-Cities and it would take some work to find some of those spots. Many places you won't see any. The key is scout around trees. We have wooducks here in Moses but there are just a few posnds that have them. I am sure there are also some places in the west side that have consintrations.

Wood ducks can be found in any waterway that has trees! I have had really great luck jump shooting them on creeks where the trees grow.

here is a mixed bag jumpshoot with some woodies and a bonus rooster!:
