Its That Time Again: :hunter:
Spring is just around the corner and along with the warmer weather comes the most anticipated spring turkey hunt. Each year I take a new hunter out in hopes to fill their first turkey tag. Last year we had an awesome start with a nice tom down 20 minutes after sunrise. This year the prospect look even better. We have access to an awesome property that has some monster gobblers there.
If you know of a young hunter who would love a hunt of a lifetime along with a free tail and beard mount have them PM me and I'll get them entered to win this hunt.
Here is whats included:
One weekend hunt preferably opening day on private property in Columbia County Wa.
All equipment will be provided (Decoys, blind ) Hunter will provide shotgun and camo.
hunters breakfast following the hunt
Free tail and beard mount
Trails End Taxidermy Embroidered Ball Cap
Hunter can be accompanied by one adult throughout the hunt. Winner will be responsible for meals and lodging. Hunters must meet all state licensing and hunter safety requirements. Winner should plan on arriving the day before the hunt starts so that we can pattern their shotgun. winner will be notified on 15 March.

This is an awesome opportunity for a young hunter, and Jeff is a stand up guy for sure. Cody and i had a blast over there last year.
Cody will get his first Tom this year.

Thanks to all the people that have sent me PM's and keep them coming.
I have been asked by several people if they need to do anything else to get entered and the answer is no. I will select a winner from one of the entries, so if you have sent me a name then they are entered to win. I would like to contact the potential winner via phone before I announce it on the forum. so please make sure you have a phone number included with the entry.
Thanks
So far I have about a dozen entries
Good luck
Jeff

In order to make sure the winner has enough time to plan, I moved the drawing date up a bit. I'll be contacting the winner this week so if you haven't entered yet I wouldn't wait. I'll post the winning name on Friday.
I have about 25 entries and counting.
Good Luck

Kuduman,
Thanks again for selecting Ava for this gracious hunting opportunity. She will be trilled when she gets home and I have her read this post to find out she was selected. I enjoyed speaking with you on the phone and look forward to meeting you and your wife. I know Ava will be thrilled when she harvest her first game animal and it will be a proud moment for me as her father. Thanks again Jeff for this opportunity you provide to young hunters.

One week until the fun begins :mgun2:
-
How generous, Kuduman! Best of luck bagginging that big ole' gobbler to the young lady! :)
-
Great of you to offer a youngster a chance like this!!
-
Hat's off to you Jeff. I know Ava, she is very deserving, as well-mannered a young lady as you will ever meet. (Pretty sure she gets it from her mother, her dad on the other hand :P)
-
Well unfortunately Ava and her Dad could only make it out for opening day. At first light we were met with gale force winds, sideways rain and cold that cut to the bone. Ava was a trooper and never complained. We saw a two toms all day and just couldn't close the deal. Ava's invited out for the regular season for another opportunity and I can guarantee better weather.
Grant... It was a pleasure to meet you and Ava, I hope you had a good time. I'll be in touch as the opener gets closer.

Still a great experience for a young hunter :IBCOOL:
-
My hat's off to you for providing the experience and for the followup in the regular season ... I have taken out many friends and family, and it means alot to see them light up when they get their first and even just with the experience.

Kudos to you Jeff for put this hunt on (second year) for the youth. :salute:
Ava and I had an absolute blast on the trip, which we view as successful. Angie's biscuits with sausage gravy are to die for and the beef vegetable stew I know was a hit with us all after a nasty weather day like we had. 36 degrees, snow, sleet, rain, and an Ellensburg wind all day. A little sliver of sun about mid-day, with no mercy from the wind though! Ava really surprised me with her intestinal fortitude she displayed at age 12 throughout what mother nature threw at us!
Jeff, you are a gentleman and kindhearted and your wife is on the same pedestal as you. Again, you two are welcome at my place anytime. When you make that trip to Leavenworth this summer remember Entiat is only about 15 minutes north of Wenatchee...I'll be expecting you two....bring your appetite too!
Your taxidermy shop is one of the cleanest shops I've seen! They all smell the same though (not a bad smell though) :chuckle: Dayton was one cool town and we can't wait to get back!
Jeff and then Ava.
