Title: Speed Goat Hat

I was just wondering how many of you have tried this one?

I have also spent some time with the guys from Be The Decoy and they are a good bunch!

I don't think people have to worry about getting shot unless they wore it late in the evening in low light or brush country which is rare for goats.

Post by: gasman on March 03, 2011, 05:42:48 PM: I watched a hunting show where two guys used a hat that looked like a deer. Not as elaberate as that, there's was home made. They walked with in 4 yards of deer bed down and shot them with archery EQ. I have what I need to make one but just have not done it yet.

I think it is a cool idea and will try it some time but not durring riffle season :bdid:

And yes, they are great guys. They may even be members, but maybe not. They are from Montana.

Post by: AKBowman on March 04, 2011, 08:13:11 PM: I've seen guys use hats very similar to those on kodiak island for blacktails. No suit just the hat, during the rut the deer will let you walk right up to them within a few yards. Theres video on the web somewhere.

They also make them for dall sheep with a big full curl and everything. I wouldnt feel comfortable knowing I'm wearing a suit that looks like a trophy animal when people can shoot out to 700 yds :o

if you wear doe hat a horny buck will try to mount you.

or some guy that needs glasses will send a round down range, I will wear my punkin suit thank you. ;)

When I pack out my horns, I tie pink surveyors tape all over them and make sure my orange vest is showing well. I even tie the horns on my pack upside down so anyone that just might not have a good view of me will have to look hard at upside down horns and hopefully figure it out before they shoot.
