Just picked one up.. cant wait to hunt with it. Who has one and what do you think??

OOOOPs MATHEWS Z7... I should use my brain sometimes :chuckle: :chuckle:

Congrats on the purchase jstone. I've heard great things about that bow. The only thing that matters is if you like it. My Dad just bought his first bow and loves it. Congrats on the purchase and have fun. Nothing cooler than a new bow. :IBCOOL:

My brother-in-law has one. Very smooth shooting bow. congrats

I think they are sweet! My Switchback XT still shoots nice otherwise I'd be tempted. Smokin deals on Archerytalk on z7's right now. I just saw one on CL for $650 or $700 bare. Seems like a fair price.

Bought my first bow 4 years ago (for hunting). Now I own 4 and am getting another.
Last year I got a Z7 and for me it is the best bow I have ever shot. And the only reason that I offer my opinion is that my wife's job
allows me to go many places and shoot many bows under various conditions. For me the Z7 is the best bow I have ever shot.
But there's more to a bow than bow. The setup, the sight, the rest, the release, and the arrow. Whatever bow you choose find a tech that knows the bow (and hopefully shoots that mfg's bow). There are so many variables, you will have a lifetime of enjoyment with your bow.

I bought a z7 last summer and love it. The only i don't like much is the grip, so i will be getting a focus grip or a torqueless grip for it.
-
I bought a Z7 extreme a couple months ago and so far I'm very happy with it.This is my first bow so I don't have anything to comepare it to.
-
Congrats, heard great things about it. I've never shot one, but mathews makes nice bows.
-
Got mine last spring and really like it. Best bow I have owned. I like smooth & forgiving in a bow & this one fits the bill. Mike

I have one and whacked my largest (species specific) deer with it this year. Real nice bow and easy to shoot, no hand shock, etc.
I did put the Focus grip on it and a Winner's Choice string. The handle, although better than my Outback, is still a Matthews handle. Too wide to be any good - at least for me. Other than that, great bow.

I have one all black very nice smooth and quite , i did change a grip i put torque less a very big deferenc compered to original , but I'm selling my or will trade for another one couldn't get use to it for its short ATA i need something longer then that .

the Z7 is the only way to go, nice smooth and quiet.

My Z7 Extreme...

Oops I didnt mean to make it sideways.

Looks like Spokane Valley Archery set it up for you. Do like the offset on the stabilizer to balance out the quiver. Here's mine, kind of deviated a little from the peep from SVA
-
Not sure how you could tell from the pic that I got it setup there, however your absolutly right. I like the stabilizer, but I havent tried any other to compare either. I really like the bow. Spokane valley archery didnt really pay attention to me when I was there at first and then they realized I was gonna spend the big bucks and suddenly I was the cool kid on the block. :chuckle:

Could tell because you had the sight, peep, arrow rest (and custom holder to hold arrow in place) and longer stabilizer that they tried to sell me. I think if you went to any other place, they would have put a tubeless peep on it, they would have probably sold you a Quad arrow rest.
-
My other bow has a tubeless peep on it and I dont like it as much. It could also be the fact that the string wasnt the best and when it stretched the peep twisted a little. Im not afraid to try this setup for now (which seems to work quite well) and if I need to change things down the road thats fine.

I've got one I love also. It's only the fourth bow I've owned but the best shooter by far. A new stabilizer and string are next on the list.
