Anybody else see the sheep just outside Chelan?
-
Nope have you seen then lately?
-
Yeah yesterday :chuckle:
-
Wow where were they at I want to go get some pics??
-
Rock slides above the road between concrete plant and airport. been crossing the road last several days moving up and down, some family of mine seen em 3 days in a row just off the road. so I went down to see if I could sneek up on them
-
Thanks, Sweet looking pics there Gideon!!
-
Tried my best to put the invisible sneek on them
-
Actually the biggest of the bunch stayed bedded behind the rocks so no close ups of him. I am not up on my rams so I dont know the quality of animal I am looking at with sheep.
-
They heard the camera but I dont think they pegged me for at least 25-30 minutes maybe more
-
Good job on the pics!!
-
Thanks I took about 200 pics...I'll try not to post that many :chuckle:
-
Good looking rams, I recognize most of them, doesn't look like the larger ones were with that herd, always fun to see sheep though.
-
All of the larger ones had traffic stopped for a couple minutes the other day licking salt in the middle of the road. They've been right there for over a month now, and thankfully I haven't heard any reports of them getting whacked.

More and More

My new desktop background. First time I have been privillaged to watch them headbutt. Pretty Awesome!
-
This guy walked in a little to close for my comfort
-
nice pics..... :)
-
They finally saw a slight movement and pegged the noise of the camera to it. FULL attention. I have out waited deer before but these sheep would not stop staring! Wind was in my favor so they werent to uncomfortable...just watching waiting for a reason to bust.
-
Totally Awesome Photos Gideon! Looks like Bone has some major competition in photo land! :)
Dick
-
That one young guy looks like he will grow into a good ram... :)
-
thanks guys! I was happy with the results
Thanks Dick, I get lucky...Bone just knows how to get it done though.

I guess I took almost 300 pictures  whoops. Well hopefully you guys enjoy them! I sure did, I was extremely blessed with a clear day but enough high clouds to filter the sun for me. pretty sure if it had been as clear as the first four pics the glare of the sun would have lowered the quality. not real sure but it seemed to work for me taking these pictures....all pictures hand held 400mm Lens. sure felt heavy towards the end. my arms were shaking and I was sore from trying to hold so steady. closest ram probably 20 yards or less easy bow shots :) like cake for a rifle haha :IBCOOL:
oh they never winded me either so they just pranced back to the other sheep bedded down and when I left I glassed the others still bedded down and these ones joined em and were feeding near them. I hate disturbing animals so it was nice to leave feeling I didnt ruin their day!
-
Great pics Gideon, you are on your way.

Love those chelan sheep!! I have great pictures of them as well and video. A couple years ago we where hunting that area and got within a couple feet of a older Ram sleeping was pretty darn cool a little scarey but cool!! You got some really great photos!! Congrats!! Though I do have pics of the Chelan Sheep I never have my camera when Im able to get in close!!

They are curious critters. A year or so ago I went out to sight in a rifle. Got out of the truck, and there was a herd of them looking at me 200 yards away. Set up my bench, and they were 100 yards away. went out and put up targets, and got back to the bench and set up to shoot, and they were 50 yards away. Touched off a shot and looked behind me and they were gone! Seems to me that animals like that are too dumb to be shot. Now Whitetails and Coyotes, That's another story!

Great pic's Gideon! One of these days maybe I'll get lucky ;)
