What is your average success rate for coyote hunting per stand? If you set up 10 times how often do you get a kill? How often do you see one at all?--1 in 10?--1 in 4?-- 1 in 100?- etc.
I am asking for all the new guys out there. This will help us get a feel for how you successful Yote hunters are doing, and how many stands to put in using the same techniques before trying something different. I know this will be different based on location in the state, experience, dry spells, and a whole list of other factors but I am curious about ballpark figures.

It all depends sometimes I will get one to respond on each set sometimes I will go 10 or more sets with absolutly nothing.

I usually average one kill a day in country I know, that's about 5 or six stands a day and I can keep that average up for a week or two continous. In new country that average drops to half of that or less untill I get to know the country. I usually average one kill for every three I see, but I don't take high percentage shots just come back another time and set up better.

This is a little off of the Subject but I was out near Brewster for the weekend & there was dogs every where. They were howling / screaming all night and I would get up at first light & see them cruising all around looking for food. It snowed 2 inches last Saturday night & the tracks I saw Sunday driving around was awesome. I wasn't hunting but they could use some help out there. I was right off old hwy 97 just north of town, lots of country. Mike

Well this last season I was 1 for 1 on seeing a coyote. I had scope problems and a few bullet issues so my kill rate was 1 in 5 stands

I'm 2 out of 7 in the past week and a half.

In good country (shrub steppe) a 1:4 ratio would be pretty good. Up here in Pend Oreille County, I'm more like 1:10...I think it depends a lot on the prey availability (seasonally) and temperature quite a bit.

Last year I was 1 kill out of 3 / 4 on average. This year has been horrible for me. In 15 sets I've called in 4, only had a good shot at 1 and my partner missed.

This is all great data thanks to all that replied. It'll help us newbies know when change it up.

So-far.... out of 20+ sets, 0 killed
1 sighting but gone too quick

1 for 3 seen is my average!!!!! The kill rate is another thing all together!!!!!!!!!!!! :chuckle:

One in Five. Some mornings raise the average quickly, other mornings just lower it.

This year on this side of the mountain I'm about 1 our of 3-4, on the eastside 1 out of 2-3. On this side the most I've ever called into a stand was 3 and that only happened once, but on the eastside it would be anywhere from 2-4 most of the time. I love hunting the eastside but I live on the west

For me it depends on who Im with. But usually I have a 1 in 6 ratio if im actually hunting for yotes. Seems when I bear call, that I call in a 1 for 1 ratio, but dont shoot in fear I will scare bears away. >:( :bash:

I have been calling one in for every 12 stands. Kills are more like 1 in 30 though.
