He also claimed he was fully prepared to play dead again next time... Crap, I would have said I will be fully prepared to unload all my .460 rounds into the damned next one!

Im with you iceman, 5 s&w 500 rnds between the eyes. I hunted last year in Mt. with two guys who had to shoot one the year before. Shot with a 44 and didnt phase it. pretty awsome story.

One was sighted in on it and just couldn't get a round off because the fierceness of the attack, the other hit from about two feet away and didn't know it was there. Too fast. I think all the talk of pulling the gun and taking care of business is not reality at all. Until you see the speed of these animals when in that mood, could you have had time to pull and react, doubtful, very doubtful.....

Ive said it before and i'll say it again....i have never seen an animal go from zero speed, to explosion of speed like a bear. Last year was an eye opener. And that was with an exploded heart! It dropped about 30 feet away..but stilll ......scary fast.
