I'm going on a boar hunt in July and am looking for a good broadhead for the job. Who has had good luck with what? No restrictions either, mechanicals are ok......Thanks :)

I have never hunted boar but have seen the shows and read the articles in various rags. One thing I always hear is fixed blade only, no mechanicals. I would thing with enough arrow to do the job a good 3 blade like the G5 line would do the job.

I picked myself up a muzzy 3 blade 100gr this year after i did a broadhead tune they were flyin nice wth my filds. I then did the jug test wth water n it was leakin pretty good.

Any sturdy fixed blade head will do fine. Just remember to take lots of arrows and broadheads if you'll be at a ranch that you expect lots of shots. A buddy went in Texas and ended up with a full 2 dozen arrows and broadheads getting ruined from pass-throughs hitting stuff.

I've killed a couple hogs and seen another couple killed, all with 125gr Thunderheads, worked well and hogs went no where with good hits.

Ive killed 5 hogs using slick trick 100gr work awesome and leave big holes that dont close and are very tough i use them for all my hunting. :twocents:

I would recommend any good fix bh from all the popular brand will do the job. Hog is not any different than elk or moose. Good luck.

Sounds like fun. Where're you going?
-
I think any good broadhead that you would use for deer or elk will be just fine.

Going to N. California with some friends and family to break up the off season.....
