Title: walleye in the spokane arm
Post by: Black Plague on March 17, 2011, 10:19:41 AM
My finals are finally over this Friday...one last O. Chem. test and I am free....runnin on fumes right now......was definitely gonna try to do spring break right with 3-4 days of fishing.   was just wondering if anyone has fished the Spokane arm out of Porcupine Bay for walleye and if they had any luck...I mostly here about people on lake Roosevelt but I am not as familiar with the area outside of Fort Spokane.  also I was wondering where i could pick up some "stinger hooks" ...I checked Walmart in airway heights 2 months ago and they didn't have any... any tips would be greatly appreciated, I figured i would just try drifting along slow with jigs tipped with nightcrawlers from 2o-6o feet until I hopefully pattern them....any tips on decreasing the learning curve would be awesome....haven't fished since last year, getting excited

There has been some good Walleye fishing in the arm this year.  And some dandy females caught and hopefully released.  Good luck and let us know how you do.

yeah, roosevelt has been really good but the arm has not been nearly as good...if you launch at  fort Spokane and fish that section its a lot better than way further up the arm ...fish have been super shallow....around 15 feet from what my friends have been saying...and they smacked em good...but didn't get anything over about 18 inches...lots of small males though....kinda like really really big perch....which are still tasty even though really little ......fished the Pend Oreille and got 4 pike to the boat...biggest was only about 26 inches though
