Post by: yelp on March 18, 2011, 10:25:45 PM
Well I got her drying can't wait..Hopefully she will last..my old stuffer got mounted too many times.   :yike:  I still have her and will repair her as a back up.  I mounted her legs a little back this time and used a heavier wire..I hope she holds up.  Shes so cute you want to kiss her!   :chuckle:

Yelp, if you leave mounting them to the toms, they last a lot longer. :P

That will be the new tag line for my taxidermy..LOL.

My list of excuses????

I made her that way on purpose.
The ugly ones need loving too.
It was cheap.
She was a goose when I started!
They always look better at Thanksgiving!

The best one:   I only shoot stupid gobblers!

Hey Yelp,

Nice looking stuffer!!   Wanna trade?  My stuffer is a young Jake from a Fall hunt that we tried to turn into a he/she stuffer!!   :yike:

The toms have not tried to mount the he/she stuffer yet!  What am I doing wrong?   :chuckle: :chuckle:  Should I advertise "it" in the classifieds?

It isn't that heavy.  I used the last one for three years..It got mounted to many times now the head is coming off.  I can salvage with epoxy.

John..looks nothing like what you can do.. It still looks like a hen..It will work.  I did it old school..Twine and excelsior wire for bodys with raw  cotton for stuffing.  I also used original skull with critter clay and glass eyes.  Hope this one holds up..but if a 22 lb longbeard busts her up..oh well..LOL :chuckle:
