Here is a big pile of sheds that i thought i would share. They are friends of the family sheds. And the second picture is of nice wt 3 that my girlfriend found, i would have had an atl pic but she shoved me out of the way and ran and picked it up.

Ummmmmm you do realize that picking up antlers attached to skulls is illegal in this state right???????
-
What did that cow skull score? :chuckle:
-
Holy Crap man! Are those things just lying around outside? Somebody save them please! Thanks for that pic, now I have to go shed hunt today after seeing a pile like that.

And for that matter it looks like they've been out there a while . . . Could have been bucks they took themselves and just left outside to weather.
Awesome collection!
-
Wow! that's a pile! Looks like he piled up his harvested bucks too and a cow or two to boot.
-
Dang! At least he could build an arch or something out of them!
-
There is some serious mass in that pile (and not just the cow :P). What a pile. Almost seems a waste, so many people spend so much time looking, yet it appears if you have the right food source in the field you just have to pick them up. Looks like a pile from a large farm, that are just picked up as the fields are prepared for the next season. Cool picture.
Devin had you been a little faster you could have pushed her down and got a double atl picture to post :chuckle:. Just kidding I promise. Thanks for posting.

Yeah it is sad to see them out in the weather like that but we have a couple farmers down here that don't care for the antlers either. They shoot some huge bucks and just chop the horns off and throw them out by the barn. They just toss the sheds out in the trees so they don't hit them with the farm equipment. Do you think they would let me go look for sheds...no.
-
Damn, thats a lot of antlers. Looks like some big ones in there too.
-
:yike: i wish my pile was half that size.
-
oh yeah there are some massive sheds in there! there is mostly whitetails and muleys, and some little elk and some cow bull skulls. They have alot inside there shop also, mostly all last years and this years. They have had the ranch for over 50 years and they just keep throwing them into the pile. There are also alot of degrated ones along it also. The pile made my jaw drop when i first saw it.

:yike: Thats alot of bone
-
think your family friend woud be interested in selling them, im looking for a bunch of weathed antlers for some projects, send me a note if hes interested.
-
Danderson, you should have posted something up on here I think most guys leave the weathered ones on the woods at least I do but I would bring them out if someone wanted them. :dunno:
-
I pick up every one I find unless I cant carry anymore, there is a market for weathered sheds, foks like em for yard art or landscaping. some others like to leave a few for critters to chew on, and I do leave a few, but not very often, I can use em, save em all.
-
Hey, I recognize that pile. I think I have permission to hunt his property for turkeys.
-
All i have to say is wowwwwww. :o
-
:yike: nice pile!
