In the spirit of the upcoming spring bear season, I thought I'd share a photo my brother took last year. I am looking for weight guesses - what do you all think he'd tip the scales at?
-
weight wise, I think he is a little over GINORMUS!!!!
-
He's obese...
-
:yike:
-
What the hell have you been feeding him Krispy Creme doughnuts? :chuckle:
-
440? My guess.

That bear makes me feel good about myself :chuckle: Looks like it has been injecting itself with crisco. 500 pounds maybe??? Not sure its really not long, and fat is lighter than muscle :chuckle:
-
Wow!!!
-
HOLY MOLY! Is that a Washington bear? I think he would be over 500#, I shot one in 2002 that weighed 350# and it would look dwarfed next to that fatty.
-
600, looks just like some Tame blackbears they had at the puyallup sportsmans show 3 or 4 years ago, they were around 600.
-
lol omg i have never seen a bear with fat roles almost!
-
I'm gonna guess he weighs 1.21 gigawatts---thanx Doc Brown-----wow; that's a monster
-
if i where him i would worry about ground clearance :chuckle:
-
Looks like gentle ben!
-
My guess the same as a vw bug! Holy chunks!

So did you go in the cage, sit down and have a cup of coffee with em? :chuckle:

Id love my picture with Bobo! Just as long as this isn't Bobo :chuckle: WTF is up with the karate suit?
Crazy bear attack women!! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YtmmefcJbMc#)
-
That's one fat black bear!
-
Just out of curiosity, if I saw that bear, I would say it was a sow.
My understanding is that a boar would have more of a flat, less rounded rear and back.
Not quite so "pear shaped"
Also I have heard that a boar would have a longer nose (?)
Not that it makes any difference (unless she had cubs) to me, just wondering what you more experienced bear experts would say.. :dunno:
-
537! Lbs
-
500, easy
-
I got 20 Bucks $ saying that fatty black bear couldnt climb a tree!
-
Good gravy thats a fatty and what a beautiful coat. Is that a peel in the background?
-
Who cares SHOOT SHOOT SHOOT :o
-
He's obese...
He's big boned.
-
Holy Cow! I'd say 460.
-
Decker, when you or your brother take that critter, please weigh him/her whole so we know. That's a big'n for sure.
STIKNSTRINGBOW - I've seen boars and sows fat like that. Shape of a rump or length of the snout is not always a tell.

-
:yike: He's a fatty
-
That dude has been been stealing to many picnic baskets. :nono:
-

If there was a box of donuts I bet he would make it up the tree just fine :chuckle:
-
He doesn't need to climb the tree to get the donuts, just run into it and push it over....
He puts new meaning to the word square as in what does that hide square, since he is as wide as long, or square!
-
Myself, BTKR and some family took pictures of 2 bears in the Olympic National park that are that big last year. My guess would be pushing 500 lbs.
-
Looks like one of them fat AK bears. They just look different because they have so much more to eat. Gorgeous critter.
-
Definately a tank. I'm not ruling out that it's not a fat sow though.....
-
Geez thats a bign! I'd say its pushing 550+
-
well fed bear....
-
That bear can eat! He would make a nice rug.
-
Helluva black bear, no doubt about that.
-
that looks like Bear world in Idaho we took our kid there last summer
-
I had to go back and look at that photo... (for the seventh time :chuckle: ) Extremely good looking coat. That's adding a few pounds to the view. Is that a Washington Bear, Decker? Garbage dump or orchards near?
Krispy Cream shop?

First bear I've ever seen with CANKLES.
No idea on the weight.
-
like how you named your pic "Fatteus Maximux" :chuckle: thats a pretty damn good name though that thing is huge!
-

haha i was thinking the same exact thing. Thats the only bear i've ever seen that i might actually be able to out run!!
-
As much as I'd like to claim this as a Washington bear, it's a photograph from my brother's trip to Yellowstone last year.
-
Ah Hah!!! I knew that thing had to be tame or close to it. Its so fat and disgusting I'm not sure I'd want to eat that thing. It'd sure make for a nice rug though. :chuckle:

500lb+
-
Definitely over 500#... now...you say Yellowstone, but me thinks its one of the tame bears in one of a couple "drive through" bear tour deals we have over here. I saw a bear just like that in one up by Glacier several years ago... "the Great Bear Adventure" or something like that.... So, tame or wild???

I picked this off of another site. As I remember a youth shot this in Oregon somewhere. I absolutely love this picture. LOL

Now this is my 2010 bear. It was a solid 5 footer so it wasn't exactly tiny but look at the difference. :chuckle:

I know but it's a good pic nonetheless. I posted a trhread about it a few months back with a link to the story. It's titled "his bear my bear" or something like that if you want to check it out.
I'm not claiming it is or isn't real. I dont care. I just like the pic.

RIGHT!? I mean if you're gonna put a winch on your kid's Power Wheel and set it in quicksand so it appears to be squatting, then yeah, big bear. :tung:
