Took these yesterday. If you got em, lets see em. BTW, does anyone know what the different colored ear tags mean? Also, feel free to edit these pics some. I don't do well at zooming/cropping and all that. These goats were bedded got up and started walking towards me then took off, only to (as antelope do) get curious again and come right back towards me again and repeat.

I have a few more pics but I thought these were the best ones. The one with the yellow tag is #1.

One other thing, the goat in the top pick on the far left has a pretty good battle scar on the top of her hips and back. I'm not sure if it was from when the captured them or banging around in the crate during transport.
-
Neat pics. So I guess they are off the rez.
-
That's cool man. Where were the pics taken if I may ask?
-
Horse Heaven Hills
-
hey Gringo. how far into horse heaven hills? far from benton city? i go out to the horse heaven hill alot,.. would be cool to see some antilope

Great pics Gringo! new desktop background FTW
-
you think they were going further east? :dunno:
-
They seemed pretty content. Been there for a few days. I don't think they know where they are going as long as it is off the res.
-
Great pics, thanks for putting them up.
-
8) Nice pics, thanks Gringo
-
My guess on the different color ear tags is male female
-

Great pics.. nice to see the four legged dirt burners....
Can not wait to see em in person.

Probably been asked before but how many were released?

Originally they wanted 100, but I heard they ended up releasing 99?
-

99 where released.
they captured 100 but i think 1 escaped
-
So what you are saying is they were released on the reservation but many are now on public or private non tribal land?

One died during transportation if I remember right.
Great pics by the way! I really want to get over that way and see them for myself. I hope they stick here in Washington, whether or not we ever get a huntable population. I just like the thought of having them up here in our neck of the woods.

Very cool find. Wish I am there. I love antelopes.
Mulehunter. :IBCOOL:
-
Biginner, thier not far enough east to be impacted by the foot & i think they could probably out run most any preditor around here
-
awesome!!! i hope they continue to plant them. I would love to see herds of these guys all over.
-
I hope it works. It would be pretty cool to have another game species in the state to hunt. But for now, I will just go to Wyoming.
-
I would love to see Antelope multiply and spread. :IBCOOL:
Seems like I heard they were checked for disease when released, does anyone know if the disease tests showed anything? :dunno:
-
There is a really good article about these goats in the Feb issue of NW Sportsman.
-
Ya know? I love antelope in Wyoming and down in Texas. I would rather see mule deer out there. Antelope are not indigenous, and are more like feral pigs to me. But then, I’m at least the fourth generation Washingtonian, with two generations of younger guys behind me. I remember when the mule deer were like these pix. But nice pix.

These all look like does to me. Males have black faces and black cheek patches. And I'm pretty sure they'd have some horn growth by now.
-
I agree no black cheeks, all does, but likely some or all are pregnant.
-
it is too bad that this state can't figure -out a way to work together and make this happen. we need more.
-

I thought they would release that all tested neg. So..... does them NOT coming out with the test results mean anything?
-
There is another group of 4 does and a blue ear tagged buck about 5 miles from that first group. I got some pics but they were 500 yards out. I'll see if I can find em closer where I can get pics without disturbing them.

"We found the Antelope extreemly shye and watchfull insomuch that we had been unable to get a shot at them; when at rest they generally seelect the most elivated point in the neighbourhood, and as they are watchfull and extreemely quick of sight and their sense of smelling very accute it is almost impossible to approach them within gunshot... they will frequently discover and flee from you at the distance of three miles. I had this day an opportunity of witnessing the agility and the superior fleetness of this anamal which was to me really astonishing... I beheld the rapidity of their flight along the ridge before me it appeared reather the rappid flight of birds than the motion of quadrupeds."
Meriwether Lewis, September 17, 1804
