I was just wondering who all drew the North Skagit tag? Or has anyone had success in that unit?
-
There is a lot of info here and if you use the search feature I am sure you will find what you are looking for.
Good luck.
-
You should be able to find good info on the skagit tag. Maybe its just me but when people come on the site and ask for help with only 1 post people seem a little reluctant to give up info. I think the more you put in the more people seem to help you out with questions. :twocents:

:yeah: And maybe not directly applicable to this thread, but I wonder when people draw a tag and then ask questions that indicate they applied for an area they have no knowledge of. I'm not saying that's what Bowhunter2476 did.
I applied for a Skagit tag and wasn't selected, but I know the area a bit anyway but still went out of my way to learn the boundaries and access rules before I even applied.

I am not sure if he was asking for help or just wondering who got the tag. There is 9 people from the site that has shared saying they drew the tag. Me and my friends son both drew this year. So thats 2 of the 9. Here is a link with what people from the site have.

I don't know the number of apps or tags from this year. But last yeat that unit had like 20 tags for 450 apps. If its about the same this year its pretty cool that about 1/2 the tags in that unit went to members on here :IBCOOL:
-
One of our hunting crew member's pulled the north skagit tag.
We did alright this year pulling tags so far, 4 apps and 2 tags. Hope we can keep this average up :IBCOOL:

I realize how it looks with me having only 1 post, I am not asking people to tell me where to hunt. I am simply asking who all drew or if anybody has had any success. I am capable of doing my own research, I am somewhat familiar with the area, I just have never drawn the North Skagit bear tag before. I apologize for the one post that I do have I plan on having several more, but you have to start somewhere.
-
I know two locals that drew the tag for 2011. Just get out and scout.

I think you can find Good info on the skagit tag. I don't know anything about it myself but I know there are a few members that drew it this year. Good luck on your hunt.
-
My brother (xforce) pulled this tag this year. Its bow for him.
-
Most hunters in skagit do not share info on there hunting grounds.. no offense to anyone but thats our rules in skagit co .. hahahaha good luck..just hunt !!!
-
Dand between friends and family of members and members I think there is about 12 tag on here :yike: It will be cool to see all the other bears that come out of that unit.
-
there are some nice bear in this unit... last year I could of killed 2 dandies but no tag and this year i passed up on applying again....they will be right along the edge of the roads eating grass ... find bear peels and your in ...good luck
-
Well a buddy and I drew a Skagit tag. I have hunted here all my life. But since this tag is new to me I have lots of questions. We have received nothing. I called the Big house today and they said they were still working out details with timber co. And they hoped something would be in mail by Monday.
Another rumor is that timber co. do not want to give keys out because to many folks last year let others in.
I lived in Birdsveiw for 4 years and am still friends with people up there. Hunted Jackman back in the day when you could drive from Everett lake and come out Jackman above concrete.
-
There is like 1/2 the tags or better on the site :IBCOOL: I look forward to seeing all the bears that come out of there! Make sure you post a story and pic's after your hunt! :IBCOOL:

Got the permit today in mail rushed over to DNR Sedro and got a key $100 deposit. Maps, and the papers to sign. They stressed if you violated the terms of the key agreement, the key would be taken on the spot and the money forfeit.
-
I drew last year and got a bear my first morning out. It was not real big but had a dandy coat. It's still at the taxi- been almost a year now.
-
A lot of taix's are that way. They have a lot of work to do and most turn around for critters like bear are about a year.
-
I got my permit yesterday as well, haven't made it down to DNR yet though.
-
Good luck North Skagit tag holders. I was out all morning hiking and checking trailcams in the unit, no sign yet but things should pick up once we get into May.

They are moving down in Thurston County. Ran into a couple of cubs (heard mama, but never saw her) this morning. See the 2011 Spring Bear Sign thread for a few pics.
-
A family member pulled this tag, you said the DNR in sedro is where you get the keys? Does anyone have a address or a phone number?
-
919 North Township Street
Sedro Woolley
Got my permit yesterday and the information packet in the mail today along with my call from Bearmanric. Good day for mail!
-
I too received a info packet today. My Buddy went up and scouted roads today. Said he was at a gate near main line when another rig pulled up. He walked back and talk to them and told them he could not let them in that he had special permission. They left and another rig came up. It was security for Sierra and he thanked my buddy for turning the other rig away. Seems they had cameras there. they checked all my buddies paper work and wished him good luck.
-
Dang how many tags did they give away this year :yike: There is about 12+ people on here that have the tag this year and last year they only gave 20. Pretty cool I hope to see a lot of big bears get posted up. I will be hunting the last week of april and first part of may. We will see if we can get it done. :IBCOOL:
-
My permit showedd up today, still just waiting for the packet.
-
I heard 40 tags from dnr
-
I see, last year I am pretty sure they only gave 20. Would have to look at the old regs and see for sure.
-
i think you are right about 20 last year. My buddy asked them about how many and they said the DFW was pushing for more this year.
-
Well off to work and than about 4pm off to hunt bears for 3 days. Good luck to all. If you come across my avatar(my hunt crest) out in the woods stop over and say howdy. We will swap tall tales.
The shooting lasts for minutes the story lasts forever.
-
If this is any of you on here with a tag, you are in a good area, just 3-4 weeks early. :chuckle:
-
LOL! Thats my brother xforce! He was going to put my trail cam up right there...but as you can see he moved on! Awesome
-
HA! I was just saying in the other thread that I bet that was him. :chuckle: Not to many guys hunt in sweat pants :chuckle: Looks like a sunday jogger :chuckle: but with the bear calls and a bow he must be after more then just a sweat :chuckle:
-
