anybody ever convert thier 10/22 into a 22magnum? thinking about it..... would love some input from those who have
-
I've been reading about it on Rimfire Central. It doesn't look too difficult. I'm neck deep in project guns runs right now though.
Also, look at the "Razor" recievers. I'm thinking about going that route, and making in into a 17 HMR for sage rats. There are a LOT of folks that have done it with zero issues. Kind of makes me go "hmmmm".

Interesting! Tell us how it goes and how you do it.

Cheaper to buy a 10-22 mag up front then to buy the parts to convert a 22rf to 22mag. The 10-22 mags are kind of hard tp find anymore but used ones come up for sale now and then. A freind of mine has a 22 mag and a 17 barrel for it, he likes the 17 better then the .22 mag.

I have an extra 10/22 laying around. I would be very interested. In doing this. Do you have any info?

A couple years ago, you could buy a 10/22 magnum at a reasonable price. Now however, the prices have gone crazy, and it's almost better to go ahead and get a Magnum Research in 22 wmr!
If your friend EVER wants to sell that 10/22 magnum, PLEASE let me know. I can't really justify (let alone afford) a Magnum Research model.

Here is a link to the Razor reciever I'm looking at. I'm interested in the WMR one that he is making. I have the equipment to drill the holes and bore the barrel tenon. It looks like a fun project!

Hope the links work...

Those look really cool but the cost of building a rifle from their parts is a bit over the top.

Is there an affordable conversion? Not looking for a match gun. Just want something a little stronger than a 22lr to pack around the woods while scouting.

I have the 77/22 mag. and carry it quite a bit its maybe my favorite rifle, I shoot it very well and have the utmost confidence in it.

I love my 10-22's but when talking 22mag I prefer a bolt gun, a semi-auto 22 mag gets expensive fast.

Well I have 2 10/22s I figured If I convert 1 to .22 mag then I will get more use out of it. Plus I need one. Just cause something is semi auto doesn't mean You have to shoot it like one.1 shot 1 kill...
