Title: Public Land/Maps
Post by: KeeKeeBlamo on April 06, 2011, 08:36:40 PM
Anyone know a good place to get public hunting land maps of teanaway/GMU 335.  I am only goint to get to go turkey hunting 2 maybe 3 days before the birth of my first son in early may.  I know all the turkey's are in the NE corner and I've hunted there but I need to be closer to home this late in the misses pregnancy in case there are issues.

I realize these limitations may mean tag soup.  BUT I MUST GO TURKEY HUNTING!!

I would stop in at the Cle Elum Ranger District office in Cle Elum and pick up their Ranger District map. They're $6 or $8. Don't get the map that covers the entire Wenatchee National Forest- it is practically useless.

Also try the maps at Sportco or Wholesale Sports. They have maps that show private and public lands for the Cle Elum area.
You REALLY need to put in work to find the birds around there. I've been scouting birds for the last month and havent seen anything in Cle Elum, Thorp and Ellensburg area. Still alot of snow in the hills.
Best of luck.
