Ever wished you could buy one of those fancy Knights, maybe a DISC Extreme or a Long Range Hunter (LRH) and be able to use it during WA muzzleloading season? A sweet gun you could use during modern rifle if you’re so inclined or maybe another state and use the new BH209 with a 209 primer and a scope and then turn around and use it legally during ML season with a #11 cap and triple7? If you’re like me, you probably have never even considered it, just limiting yourself to a Bighorn or a Wolverine or maybe a MK85. Don’t get me wrong, those are great guns but sometimes you find a great deal on these other Knights and you pass them up. Will I just bought me a NIB Knight DISC Extreme with the MHC barrel, one of their top of the line barrels and I went out to the range the other day and shot it with a #11 cap and triple7 with an open breach.

Are you saying this is a muzzleloader that is legal to hunt with in this state? What is a "MHC" barrel?

from the internet:
"Knight outfits every Master Hunter with a 'Cryogenically Accurized' Green Mountain Rifle Barrel. This process utilizes a freezing and heating process to relieve stress in the barrel at the molecular level. The process dramatically increases the accuracy of the barrels already guaranteed to shoot 1-1/2 inch three-shot groupings at 100 yards. The fluted design of these barrels reduces weight and speeds cooling, making the Master Hunter a favorite of hunters everywhere."
I made one minor conversion to make it work. Tomorrow I will post some pictures if you are interested.

What kind of groups did you get?

I am a new guy to this forum, living and hunting northern Idaho... Boom has discovered something that it took me a long time to find out. Our restrictive cap rules have always ruled out me using a Knight DISC Extreme for hunting as it is basically a 209 gun... But now!!1 :yike:
Here are a couple of my Knight DISC's - remove the scope add a good peep sight like a Williams FP peep sight (with 1/4 min clicks) and the abillity to shoot caps... I am in like flint... Boom is also....

And with part of Knights Western Kit here is my open breech with cap and nipple exposed.... In a bolt action gun...

Will a Knight DISC Extreme shoot accurately?

I've shot a Disc Extreme for several year with the western disc conversion. It shoots great. I've killed a few elk with it also.
