just found this cool site that had a section for kids so i wanted to share my cougar hunt. My dad and i got drawn as partners for a cougar hunt with hounds. When my dad told me we were drawn for the tag I told our oldest, main dog that he had to get me a great big tom. I didnt think the big part would come true, and i didnt care either. In the end my dad and i had both gotton toms on the first two days of our hunt; mine was on 12/2/10. My dad got a nice sized tom that we had to drag way out of a canyon but it was worth it. My cougar on the other hand only went two hundred yards of the road straight up hill. I was so excited, but i was also really nervous because the year before this cougar hunt my brother got drawn and the season shut down the first day of his hunt. The cougar had treed about 60 ft up a big pine tree. We tied the hounds back and when i shot the cougar fell out stick still. We took my cougar to my dads friends dad who had a certafied scale because my dad hates when people say the weight of bears and cougars without actually weighing them. my cougar a.k.a mr. thomas weighed 163 lbs. Then we took the skull to the sportsman show and the skull ended up being 14 15/16 in. Now i no its worth feeding and scooping poop for our 9 hounds in any weather. WAT A HUNT TO REMEMBER!!!!!!!!!! hope u enjoy the pics
