The term "Coastie" To an Eastsider, is anyone from Snoqualmie Pass west, especially the highly populated city and urban areas. Geographically, ''Coastie'' is inaccurate, But to me, the "coast" is the entire Western Washington area. ;)

Boy are they ever hoping all you coasties hurry and get over here! They have been saving up all there "Must Have" items....and gimmicks! None of us from the east side are dumb enough to buy them.....so they depend on the wallets of the coastie to pour out large sums of cash!! Funny, I think we would do just fine if everyone stayed in their own county!

Most people go to the Eastside to hunt in the dry.  Most years you can hunt a whole week and not see rain or snow.  It is also the camping, hiking and getting away from home, minimum 3 hour drive.  We mostly camp and hike getting a deer is a bonus.  Then we go back home and get our blacktail cause for the most part they are pretty easy to hunt where we are, if you know where to go and have permission to hunt.

After making a few post's in here as well.
I think it is time that all the Eastsider's step to the plate and offer an Olive branch. As it appears we are all nothing but a bunch of backwoods, uneducated hillbilly's. Most of us wouldn't know a good beer if we spilled it.
I feel confident that if the shoe were on the other foot and if we made the Mecca to the "Wrong Side" they would welcome us with open arms.

There I feel much better now.
So who's with me?

Don't worry guys, we're only giving you the business because we all like to do it once in awhile, even me.
Sort of like the razzing I get here because I have a place north of kettle.

You guys think that because your on the eastside you know how to hunt.. Well most of ya hunt private land where you do not have to actually hunt .. Put out your food plots or feeders and sit on your butt and drink coffee waiting for your game to show up.. Whatever come on over hear and lets see what you can do... The last time I took a eastsider on a bear hunt over here on the westside he missed 3 different bears in 3 different days and his remarks were ..Damn never ever thought it was this hard to spot and stock a bear on the westside and then said thanks and handed me a donation of $ 1,500.00 for a fund raising banquet ... We kill Blacktails bigger than most Mule Deer ...No we can not hunt ...LMFAO

I'm gonna deny I ever said this, but I moved here from Graham 11 years ago. Why do you think some of us moved over to the eastside ??? :chuckle: :chuckle: So we can hunt out of our backdoors on wide open timber land, state land, DNR land, private land. Don't have to pay to go on timber land, too many people etc.  :dunno: :dunno:

I'm almost convinced that those signs actually attract people.  If you are really trying to keep wetsiders out, apparently you need to do better than that.....the best barrier these days seems to be a sign posted on a large steel gate with the lock hidden in a steel case with boulders piled behind the gate...and finally an old logging tractor parked in the road behind the boulders!

Wow i must be super rare, i am a Washingtonian. Born and raised in this state.
My mom was born and raised in port angeles, one of the oldest famillies from there.
Dad was born and raised in yakima, 2nd generation farming family.
I pay taxes on property on both sides of the state, and distribute my money to businesses on both sides...
Hunt and Fish from coast to border......
I have familly that lives on both sides, in the middle and both north and south, from longbeach and all the way to green acres, bellingham and the tricities...

We put in a gate several years ago to keep the opportunist's honest. it was 6 inch schedule 80 pipe and to make sure it had a solid base I welded a 20 inch truck wheel inverted to the bottom.
Buried 4 1/2 feet. Was always a kick to see the chain marks on the post's and the stuff that was used to try to pull them out.   :IBCOOL:

Just chain marks?  I like to look at the gated areas to see what all people have tried.  Seen chain marks.  Seen where they have tried to dig out the posts.  Cut marks from saws.  It looked like a few gates have been rammed.  Indentations from what looks like attempts to shoot through.  I've even heard that during one mushroom season they found a gate that had been cut by a torch.

Spent a $1000 last week on a FICM so I'm not super high on them currently..  She did get me a military discount though.

Always seem to do fine on the eastside.....

But boy when the eastsiders head west they dont even know which way is up or down

Or left or right  :chuckle: Yeah east side is better...not like we can kill a branch antlered bull every year on the west side or nothin'. I would much rather call in a big bull only to have to shoot it with my...Kodak!

Its funny seeing all you eastsiders in your Realtree camo. You really blend in from inside 10ft, outside of 10ft you look like a brown blob! That gets me to thinking...maybe I should try that Realtree over here in the thick stuff!

Good luck everyone hope everyone has a safe hunt and gets their birds

:chuckle:  Yes she is a tech.  I think you would be!  Next time I have an extra $1000 in my pocket and need an oil change (which is the service departments code word for 2 new injectors, a valve cover gasket, and a fuel filter) I'll swing in and see if she wants to move to Walla Walla!
