That's what i tried today. Bought a new bow and has a new sight on it. My old bow has the spot hogg on it. It seems that the sight is different, thought i would give it a chance, could be me. If not will take it off and put a new spot hogg on? I tried the close one eye at the long shots, got a good view. I will keep trying at it. PRACTICE PRACTICE.... No excuses this year

I always just close my eyes and hope for the best :chuckle:

One eye for everything with a sight. Both open for my bowfishing/trad shooting.

omg  :chuckle: :chuckle: that is awesome

I am left eye dominant right handed raised by lefties...so in a nutshell I am screwed.... :chuckle:  I shoot one eye left for scoped or one eye right for pistol and slowly trying to learn both eyes open  :dunno:

scoped rifle-one eye,  ar-botheyes(it has an eotech), pistol-both eyes, shotgun-both eyes.  if i have to shoot a rifle off hand ill use both because if i close just my right eye ill mostly close my left as well...

Both eyes for everything, it really helped my accuracy in archery, since I shoot my bow way more than all others combined it just feels right.

Close both eyes and punch the trigger that's how I've been shooting lately.  I shoot my bow with one eye.

I am cross dominant, but I have both my eyes open when I shoot.
Concentration is on the smallest part of whatever my target is, do not even think about my eyes.
pick a spot, pick a smaller part of that spot, draw, release, follow-through.....
When using Modern weapons, w/ a scope, well duh...one eye
open sights I blink my "off" eye for target aquisition, then keep it open and concentrate on "sight picture"
I can shoot either handed, and used to win bets by shooting left, they did not know I was cross dominate (neither did I until I got into Archery)

I started shooting my bow with both eyes open two years ago & it has helped my shooting tons.  I actually first sight with one eye, open the other eye, check level etc & them shoot. When I open my other eye it gives like a 3d effect.  Took some getting use to but now it is my routine. I have noticed with both eyes open I am more stable in my stance , have better form & more level / straight with my bow. Mike

I guess that is one of the things that got me into shooting a recurve, both eyes on the target.
do you close an eye when you play darts ?
which eye do you close when you throw a baseball or football ?
What about when on the golf range (or is it course)?
 :archery_smiley:
The more things you involve in the proceess, the more excuses you have for missing... K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple Stupid) I have nothing to blame but myself when I do not put it where I wanted it, common joke with my peers "I chose the wrong sight pin" or "couldn't see through my peep" (we dont have them)  :chuckle:

That is correct, if/when I miss, it just means "operator error" need to practice more.....
Cannot fault the equipment, just the nut on the handle....
although you can always use the "I did not see that small branch" (twig, blade of grass, whatever)

Same thing for me. Because of growing up that way though, it really doesn't 'matter what gun or which hand. Fishing - same thing

both eyes for everything, for scoped rifles i rotate my ocular lens cover so when its flipped open it blocks my left eye vision.

both eyes for archery especially

I shoot with both eyes open for everything except a scoped rifle. Shooting with both eyes open for archery tightened up my groups a lot, and helped me relax and let the pin fall into place instead of aiming.

Agree...I have gone back and forth with my bow. Some days especially when I spend to much time looking @ the computer the target can be fuzzy and one eye open can help. Be able to shoot one or two.
