This buck had a real pretty cape, I really like the long hairs around the antler Birs. Enjoy the pics.

saweeet  :hello:

The common crab claw 2x3, typical example of the nw coastal ghost.. super nice work!
-
 Very good job! If you stuck that out in the woods you would definitely fool alot of people.

Charlie nice mount. glad to see one with heavy hair around the bases. My brother is mounting my blacktail from this year and I had him use a cape off of a buck I got a few years back that had a bigger head and prettier cape however to make it work with this bigger set of horns with big bases the thick hair really covers the bases and I was worried it would look funny. Seeing this mount though is very similar so maybe some bucks just have that tall heavy hair up top unlike most bucks that the bases are all exposed? The way you are cranking out the mounts makes it seem like you have a spring hunt to go on?! nwhunter

Hey Scott, Im just in a hurry to get cought up so I can get to some of my stuff  Actually Im on a mission to get as much stuff done as possible so I am hopefully cought up by August. I want to kill a bear something fierce. And I cant wait for september. Imgoing all in to kill a nice Roosie this year.

I hear ya on the roosie mission thats my hope too. If the draws don't mess me up I am going to put my time in around home I hope and I drew the elk multi season so get a couple tries at them. Maybe see ya on the eastside next month. nwhunter

Hope to see you man. Hope the snow starts melting soon :chuckle:

Nice mount.

Thanks guys.
Hey Scott, I forgot to mention that most of the bucks I have mounted do not have that long hair up over the bases, it usually gets cut off flusk when they are rubbing I suspect. I see those capes that have the long hairs as a bonus. I think they look cooler when mounted.
-
Quality art as usual.. I like those blackies a lot maybe I will hunt some private land this season on the wet side and get me one. I love those dark horned critters.. Keep them pics of your art coming I thrive on them!! Literally

That is what I have always been told why some have long hair around the burr. My buddy got a muley this year that has super long hair around the burr.

Your right man, that Sylvanna Meats make the best brats. Definately worth the 3 hour drive up there :chuckle:

Great looking mount as always Charlie, very quality work!
-
Nice work.
Just wondering, general taxi questions----Do you guys have a preferance on deer to mount, ie. blackie vs mulie vs whitey?
and
Anything that makes one more challenging to mount than another or is a deer a deer?
Thanks

Very nice mount there Charlie, you did a great job!!

One of the most realistic mounts I've seen. I'd SWEAR that thing was still alive, especially that last picture. WOW!
