when the rut is on hunt all day. I have seen big bucks cruising at all times. Find yourself a good pinch point, or travel corridor and stay put all day. I agree with you that mid day is a great time to see buck activity.

Any time of day is a good time to be out in the woods.  Speaking of which, it's way too nice out to be sitting behind this computer right now...

For deer....It's all day till I fill my tag.  For elk I hunt the N.E corner......so it's all day till I fill my tag.  :chuckle:

All day. I also find the "second rut" or right after thanksgiving is the best. The biggest buck i missed was @ 11:30.

All day is good during the rut.  However, I've rattled in and have killed most of my whitetails in the afternoon.

My 3 biggest bucks have all been taken mid day. I really start to focus at about 9:30 and stay that way until about 2:oo. I love to hunt when everybody else goes and has lunch  :bdid:

I want to hunt where you guys hunt.  Because where I hunt nobody goes home mid day for lunch.  I'd say if you want to hunt with the least amount of people daylight until about 9 is when the fewest guys are in the woods.  From 9 till dark is when the most people are in the woods.  I think most guys are to lazy to get up and hunt early.

Rut or no rut it's an all day affair. The seasons are too short and time in the woods is too precious to be spending mid day in camp. Even if I am not really persuing any game I still like to sit or walk around the woods just for the time alone. If it's early in the season and the days are long I will bring lunch and a book (usually the Bible) with me and just relax and soak it all in.

I always try to stay out all day... although I am guilty of finding a nice tree to lean up against and take a little 20 to 30 min snooze around noon

Didn't read threw all the other posts but during the rut they move around a lot! Any time of the day can produce! Stay out as long as you can, from sun up to sun down :IBCOOL:
