Everywher on this site their is always some good discussions going on except for waterfowl. Is their a lack of waterfowlers on here? I admit big game is my passion but I enjoy waterfowl from Thanksgiving till the end of season. But don't get out as much as I would like.
-
I never could get into the waterfowl thing but I hunt pheasants like a fool :hunt2:
-
Just started waterfowling two years ago. Love it. Went out almost everyday last season for snow geese and ducks. First time pheasant hunting last season and had a blast. Have two really great labs, which are a necessary for waterfowling or upland bird. Can't wait for this season and my dogs can't wait either.
-
where do you hunt pheasants at?
-
I hunted the west side last year. Hunted the release sites around duvall and monroe. Grew up in duvall. Always goofed off in the release sites hunting coyotes as a kid.
-
ya we have a few release sites on the east side ive hunted (its always a zoo and the birds alot of time dont like to fly) I usually stick to the rez and a few honey holes in the lower valley
-
Don't blame ya. I also hunt private land as that's where the birds go anyways. Never hunt the weekends just during the week. I'd like to hunt the east side, but it's easyer and cheaper (gas) for me to stay over here. Sure would love to get my pup after some chukars though.
-
Duck guy right here.
-
Do you do alot of sea duck hunting washingtonmuley
-
One of these day I will. My wife really wants to hunt ducks, and upland, but we know nothing about it and do not have a dog capable of doing anything but sleeping or peeing on everything in sight.
-
Ive done well on the rez without a dog but mainly early in the season
-
Didn't know much myself let alone to train a dog. But I've done pretty good at it. Still learning though. Calling is the hardest. My pup had an awesome fisrt year and can't wait to see her in action again.
-
Me and my 2 sons hunt ducks and geese at least 10 weekends a season

Well good luck to ya this season Iceman. Duck hunting is a blast. It's a good hunt for a group of people or even buy yourself. Man I can't wait
-
Snowman,
Get out and scout some of the shorelines in your area.I would look at access right now. When it gets closer to fall then I would start looking for the ducks.
-
Out of Everett or Marysville. Guess either would be a good bet.
-
I have not hunted either but have been told marysville has some good hunting.

Ahhh lets see...the season ended in toward the end of January, skiing was in full swing, steel-headers were hitting it hard, etc. so the discussion of hunting ducks and geese went by the wayside. Spring brought on it's own thing in the form of varmints, more fishing, and all of "us" feather hunters are just sitting here passing gas and dreaming of flying feathers, cold winds and doing other things in the out of doors to pass the time etc.
I'm not being a smart ass with these remarks. Washington offers so much to do that a fella can die a ripe old age and never really hit the depth of it's potential even with all the liberals that try to stop us gun and religion nuts.

theres a ton of waterfowl junkies on here :rockin: i think its kinda a seasonal discussion. not much for us to talk about other than "look what i bought" and "i cant wait for next season" but yeah theres definately some duck killers on here.

Because of college, Waterfowl has become my #1 gig. I usually hunt about 25 days out of the year and pull about 150 birds from those days.
