Spending even $6 in Washington on a 1 in 1000 odds draw just doesn't make sense to me unless you like donating to the bonus point program. If you really want to hunt mountain goats, apply in other states or else buy a lotto ticket. If you win the lotto (which probably has better odds) you can buy a hunt in a lot of states.

Post by: NWWA Hunter on May 16, 2011, 09:56:46 PM: I figured my dads actual draw odds at what wdfw posted for I think 2009? With max pts it was around 360 to 1. Not too shabby! Now if he only could live another 300 years I think he may have a chance!

Goats are the number one animal i want to hunt, i spend all summer, and Alot of time the rest of the year chasin goats with a camara, i want to hunt them in the country i know and love.

Goat would be a cool hunt, hopefully one day it would be nice to draw a tag.

If you really want to hunt mountain goats, $6.50 isn't a bad price to pay for a small chance at a tag. But for me, I'd rather spend that on a raffle ticket for a moose hunt, or an elk hunt, or a deer hunt, or ANYTHING but a goat hunt!

I guess if I want to go up into the high country like that I would rather be going after mule deer, and I can do that every year on the high hunt.

A friend drew the Chelan tag last year and filled it in 4 days as I recall on a DIY. The same family have also filled 2 lifetime sheep draws DIY. Just saying, if the money was there I would rather go here and thats why I put in the cash for the permit, you can find $6 worth of change in my ash tray in the truck at any given time.

I too have looked at that, but the areas I want to hunt aren't open with the auction tag.
