OK, I have a new guy question...

How long are they typically without racks for? If they drop off in February, would they be growing by now? Point is, is this guy just getting a head start instead?

Like I said, new guy question...

I'm surprised you didn't set up camp on em and wait for them to fall as excited as you get over a piece of bone! :chuckle:

If he was getting a head start he would still have velvet. It looks like he is going to get a late start.

That does happen. Not often, but it does happen.  What is likely to happen, is that when he does start sparing, one or both will fall off.

I have a relative that had a spike elk around his place that never dropped the spike antlers it had from year to year. Then one day it squatted to take a leak, then it all made sense.

My son is in CO. He emailed me a couple weeks ago. Said he just saw a real monster with last years horns still.  Weird.
