Title: Kentucky whitetail
Post by: daydreamn on May 07, 2011, 06:20:09 AM
I finished this buck a couple weeks ago.  He's got a beautiful cape that I almost tossed out because it was cut short and hacked up something awful.  After lots of work and several test fits and three forms I finally made it work.  The three forms is a story all by itself.  I accidentally learned something very useful that some of you other taxidermy guys might like to try.  I started out with a 17" wet tanned cape and ended up needing a 20" form.  Any one else know how to make your cape's grow a few inches?

Sweet looking Kentucky buck!  Great mount, and nice job on the 20" neck.  Got to love it when your accidents turn into blessings, tell us more about your discovery.......
