so I am looking at putting a new rest on my bow ,want to get rid of the biscuit and go containment fallaway. So my ? is does anyone have any input or comparisons for the QAD ultra pro,and the ripcord code red. Those are the 2 that i am torn between,Pro's and cons of each would be appreciated
Thanks
-
I dont know about the ripcord but love my quad! Easy to tune and have had 0 issues in the year that i have been shooting with it. :twocents:
-
My friend switched from the Limb Driver to the QAD and likes it.
-
The nice thing about the quad is that it will stay up if you draw the bow and let down. And it has the anti bounce thing going on. Just make sure you set it up right or it will give ya fits.
-
QAD!!!! I will NEVER own another hunting rest. :twocents:
-
Trophy Taker makes a good rest and it is bullet proof. Their new smackdowns stay up at full draw.
-
QAD is a great rest I have never has any problems with mine.
-
I have tried several different capture rests and currently have a QAD LD Pro on my Maxxis 31 and it is a nice rest but over the last 3 years this has been by far my favorite rest.

There is a slow motion video on the page. I like the way it holds the arrow with pretty much no play and has complete clearance when it opens up.
-
I would go with the QAD. You can have an arrow nocked and the rest in the up position and not worry about a thing. As for the rip cords I have seen way to many of them launchers break.
-
QAD for sure, I have had an HD Pro for 3 yrs now with zero problems.
-
Ripcord code red does everything the Quad pro HD does plus you don't have the felt wearing away on your forks that hold the arrow. At half the price, it has lock down, full containment and locks up so you can leave an arrow in it if you like. :twocents:
-
The only drawback imo to the code red is that it dosent have the wheel. On my qad I can cock it by using grip hand. Very quick. :twocents:

Check out the trophy taker full containment models. They are sweet! smooth and no way for the arrow to come off! Many big game animals have fallen to mine and many more to come.
-
I've shot the trophy taker for over 10 years and love it. as far as the "full containment models" make sure you check them out with the sight you have cuz my buddy has one and has some issues nocking his arrows without manipulating it around his hardware (sight box). with practice you should be able to knock your arrow correctly without looking at it

All he needed to do was move his nocking point.

:yeah:
Bit on the expensive side though.

You can find good deals on ebay for them.

What he is referring to about the trophy taker is if you try and nock the arrow than pop it in the rest it won't work. You have to slide it in through the rest than nock it. And you don't want to move your nock point off center. You will have tuning issues.

They make a side slot and a top slot model. One of the two will work. My sight sits kinda low on my xforce but I got the side slot and I bet I can load it faster then 99% people out there shooting a bow. It comes with pratice you get use to it real quick and it's no slower to load then the other rests. I won 50 bucks at a running target shoot when a guy said I could not shoot the running target 2 times before it got to the bottom  Shot my boar in NZ a couple weeks ago at about 30 yards and he took off on a dead run and before he got past 60 yards I punched him again :IBCOOL:

Go with the QAD- Yoy won't be disappointed.

that wasn't the issue......the problem was the sight ring was so big that he needed to insert the arrow horizontally to the string under ther sight box/through the containment housing to the string....he didn't have enough clearance to put it on the string otherwise....that seems like a pain in the arse to me....moving the nock point wouldn't have done any good
-
Quad HD!!!! 8) Last one you will need to buy. New string can be put on in minutes, instead of taking apart the cocking mech. :twocents:

How about it BigPapa? You gonna head on down to Cabelas and try out the new XFarce?
I too am going to join the QAD Revolution soon. Quietest fall away rest on the market IMO.

:chuckle: I have worked in a few bow shops to be able to know the truth boys ;) Never seen a pse sent back in all the hours I have spent in one. Seen a few hoyts and had a monster blow up next to me a year ago :P No worries! I am a hoyt guy also I love my dorado :IBCOOL: But anything with wheels pse is the best and still the fastest :hello:
-
Their all good! I wouldn't hesitate to own just about any manufacturer out there.
-
amen brother, wait I do own just about every brand out there :chuckle:
Well currently14 bows and 10 brands :chuckle: I have owned more, here is a current list :IBCOOL:
pse,bear,pearson,hoyt,keller,elite,pro-line,jennings,alpine,browning
Same thing with rest I own 12 diffrent types of rests. I have my fave's of everything :IBCOOL:
-
I definitely recommend the QAD HD- I've had their lower end rest which was great but I absolutely love the Ultra-rest HD. I've put that thing through hell, snow, rain, and mud and it still works great.
-
I switched to a Quad ultra with HD, LD after switching to FOB's and pitching my vanes last year. I love the rest much easier to set up and tune than the NAP rest I had before. I feel spoiled with the full containment and not having to hold the arrow on the rest with a finger. Got a great deal on my new QUAD off ebay.
-
Code REd on on Destroyer and works great. No issues! Love it. paper tuned bullet holes in two shots.
Just my :twocents:
But I am sure that QAD is a great rest as well.

I can do the same thing with my grip hand with the Code Red. You do it with your thumb. Really, really easy to do. :twocents:
