To many bears.
-
hopefully they will bring hound hunting back for them because there is so many of them now.
-
I saw the news story last night. Seems like EVERY single time there is a bear story it's automatically called out as a "300 lb bear". That was not a 300 lb bear.
-
Its going to be crazy this year. :chuckle: come on open hounds.....
Yesterday there is 25+ officers working on trap bear off tree. Wow it may cost 5,000 dollar to save one bear. Geez.....
They may ran out of money and attacking people more often like two people last year. I am curious this year how bad it will be. :bdid:

Enjoy.

My brother lives on Harrington. His girlfriend was walking to work and saw the bear at the apartments.
-
They had one in kirkland (if I heard right) and one in issaquah today...
They mentioned that it was a poor berry season last year, hence why they were all over issaquah...
I figured it was because that is where they USED to live and now its all condos, small dogs and garbage cans...berries seemed pretty good to me last year, far as I recall.
Even though I love me hunting/eating some bears...I feel bad for the fellas when they get caught up in town.
-
That bear hit the ground hard. He is going to be sore. They would be better off just euthanizing it and moving on.
-
Why would you want them to just kill it?
-

It's because they're overpopulating and moving closer to us - no hounds or bait. We're getting more of them close to Vancouver, too. And, then the idiots feed them, either on purpose or by leaving dog food outside and garbage cans unsecured. It'll take a few children getting hit before the population as a whole realizes the benefit of a properly managed bear and cougar population. Hounds and bait hunting will need to be reinstated for that management.

wish I knew where you were, I hardly saw any, almost no Cascara or huckleberries, did have Blackberries, though not as many as usual in my area.....
They will always blame something other than management though, cannot take responsibility, then they would have to earn their pay...
-

On of the things I sell is huckleberries. The crop of mountain hucks was down by at least 50% last year because of the cold spring and summer. It's not looking too good for them again this year if things don't warm up pretty fast.

A black bear was spotted Wednesday in the parking lot of Northshore Jr. High School in Bothell.
Now, two schools, Northshore and Woodmoor Elementary, are in lockdown. Leanna Albrecht, with the Northshore School District, says students are free to walk around inside the school, but can't go outside.
This is a developing story.

I was on the west side...issaquah/monroe...I could've been wrong...I just dont recall (west side) it being too bad last year.
However, I ususally predator call, not relying too much on berries for bears.
-
yeah they deffintally need re open bait and hounds for bear.because there manigment now is doing a horibale job.
-
Way so many young bears possible have no where to live avoid older bears. Too bad for all 100 lbs bears have no choice.

It would get the attention of the liberals and the PETA types. Affirmation from the game department that the reason they are in the lowlands is that there are too many of them. Relocating won't help as the reason they are there is in search of food.
-
thats one bear they CANT call 300 pounds haha
-
On my way to school this morning I seen. A game warden pulling a bear trap up some where so there must have been another sighting or something up in watcome

So cute two cubs. Police better leave those issaq bears alone. Great footage.

Did you guys see that they shot a bear in Lynnwood? The comments to the seattle times article were very entertaining. Brought the bear lovers out of the woods (no pun intended).

Yes I saw. I was plan to post but someone already post on other thread. I was NOT happy that police shot it and this not how police explain.. I think he is too scary for bear. Wish WDFW officer caught it and relocated it for other hunter.
I would be very surprised if police shot a WOLF instead bear I wonder what FEDS will do to this officer for shoot it.
Sh!t happens. :bash:

The Lynnhood bear wasn't that far north from where I work. Hell, I could have run out to my truck, grabbed my tag and .45 and helped out!
-
hey do not forget - quote WDFW said it is not because of bears over populating but because they are hungry !!! ya I kinda agree but we have more freaken bear than they know about .. Hell I seen 7 last year and did not try that hard ....one year I counted 4 in one unit ,,,, :dunno:
-
I had never seen one until 4 years ago. Since then, I have been seeing 3-4 a year.
-
I think it's funny how the westside people are so afraid of everything that comes out of the woods wondering around. We always hear about how frightened the yuppies are that they saw a bear 8 miles from their house up by Tinkham Rd or someplace and they call the cops. :dunno:

May 29th Sunday morning 5:am, we saw a gamie towing a bear trap/trailer on the Hannegan then turned west on Wiser Lake Road. Dunno where he was going or coming from. I don't think he lives around the lake.

I saw 22 bears one year around Curlew.
I've seen 15 cougars in 11 years, all during the day.
I've seen 20 moose around Curlew in 11 years.
What's the big deal..... :chuckle:

:yeah: sad thing million people in west side has never go near foothill. I am sure they FREAK OUT. I used to Date a lady in 1998's. She start to cry so much soon she enterance my house with all mounted animals. She said why in world u kill innocents animals. :bash: Never again. Glad I married Cowgirl who loves everything.

You're right about that mulehunter. I have a few mounts myself and my wife always complains about dusting them off. But she made the rules, I do the outside , she does the inside. Those are the only rules of hers that work for me........

Funny you posted that, Sunday May 29th around 2 pm, I passed two seperate gamies both pulling bear traps heading west bound on HWY 20, just at the turn out to go to Racer St Park.
A little relocation going on?
