Title: front sight question
Post by: danderson on May 22, 2011, 08:13:28 AM
I lost the front sight off my thompson Center muzzeloader and I need to replace it, my question is there a fiber optic replacement for it or should I just go with a stock TC one , and is there a good outlet for replacement parts.

Which TC is it? But really no matter what ever it is - there is a fiber optic made for it.

Might look on this page...

Hey sabotloader got my sights from williams yesterday.  Wish I had a gun to put them on.  When I was ordering the sights Steve said that the front hood hood should work with knights sights because they are williams sights on the rifle.  Would you know off the top of your head if this is the case.  I would be able to figure it out if I had the gun.. Hopefully Monday!

I ordered a new front fiber optic site from williams a few weeks ago, and they sent the wrong parts to fit my rifle, I called and explained to them so he said he would send the correct parts , well wouldnt you know it they sent the rear site this time, still not what I ordered, just got another package from them yesterday, you guessed it another front site that doesnt have the parts to make it work. Its the dovetail adaptor that is wrong it doesnt fit the site on any of the pieces.  :bash:

Sorry dan didn't mean to jack your thread.  That is frustrating when you keep getting the wrong parts.  If you don't get the right parts you might want to call the muzzle loader suppy over in puyaullp.  He is pretty knowledgable and has a ton of different sights.

Knight did use Williams sights for a long time, but the later models moved away to go to a less expensive sight.  If the ramp on the front sight has grooves on both side then the hood should slide right in.

I just looked at my Big Horn the front ramp DOES not have the grooves for the hood... I am really thinking you are going to need the ramp...

If you did not talk to Steve try that he pretty much understands everything... Call Williams and then dial in extension #228 - that goes directly to Steve.

I talked to steve and he said he was pretty sure they were williams sights on there and it would probably work.  I hope he's right.  If not I will order the new ramp.  They were darn fast on shipping them.  ordered on tuesday and here by friday.

Thompson Center will gladly send a replacement fiber for free; I know, I needed one last year. You can get other items free from them as well. They might send a whole new sight...?

Don't know of a toll free number but the one I use is 603-330-5659. They're fast, too.
