Title: the nock point
Post by: jackelope on June 25, 2007, 08:20:20 AM: just wanted to send a thanks out to Bill, Ken and Dan at the nock point in mountlake terrace. i recently swapped some stuff with choclab and ended up with his reflex bow. not knowing the first thing about arrows, sights, etc i took the bow into the nock point on saturday. i'm usually real hesitant because i don't want to look like another newbie who don't know anything, but i went in and they took care of me. before i left i was shooting comfortably with new sight, arrows, D-loop and serving. i wanted to buy a new release, but Bill fixed the one i had.
all in all, thats the kind of service that keeps me out of the big-box stores and i just wanted to say thanks. not sure if they ever lurk here or anything, but if you need gear, they are the place to go and they have made me a customer from now on, along with a couple buddies of mine who have taken up archery as well.
BTW choclab...the bow shoots great.

I would love to meet up at the Kenmore range and shoot the walk through with you. I have been having troubles with my bows fit lately, so hopefuly I can work through that soon...lol.

i haven't shot past 25 yards yet, so we'll start on the flat range to get the other pins set up.
where are you moving to?

Also jackelope.....Glad to see you had a good experience at the Nock Point. I have been going there for a couple years now, only bow shop I go to. Bill hooked my son up with one of the Browning Micro Midas compounds, complete with release, sight, whisker bisquit, etc....for his 5th BD. Spent a lot of time helping us out getting him dialed in.

I was in there shooting one day with a guy from Kent.....they got some loyal customers for sure.

Post by: jackelope on June 27, 2007, 10:32:34 AM: it was good fun. we shot the whole first course and about half of the 2nd half. i'm pretty solid to 40 yards, there's a couple that are 50,55 that are kind of iffy, and then there's a 67 yard slightly uphill target that i couldn't even hit...
i had an issue with my sight and couldn't adjust the height. the adjuster screw was stuck and didn't have pliers to free it, so those long shots i was guessing my way through. when i got home i got the issue resolved. i put a cobra sidewinder 5 pin sight on the bow and thats the one i had the problem with. i got it straightened out so i'm gonna go down the road to some public land and try and shoot some long shots for kicks tonight maybe.

Post by: WDFW-SUX on July 01, 2007, 08:13:55 AM: Its a very challenging walk through course. It has 50+ bag targets at different unmarked yardages and angles any where from 10 yards to 80ish. I shoot it about 4 times per week great work out and definitely helps with the yardage judgments. Its by far the best course that I have shot. They have a big 3d shoot July 7-8 I think.

It was a blast...
the longest target was 67 yards when i shot...i couldn't even hit the bag :bash: :bash: oh well. next time you're over this way bone, let us know, we'll meet up and sling some sticks. you can shoot from wherever you want. it seems like they're pretty laid back.

I found them last year and used the range a few times but then came back early this year and started upgrading my gear. Bill has tuned and setup everything after I bought my Katera from Van Winkles. I should have ordered it through Nock Point but I wasn't sure I wanted a Hoyt. Van Winkles has a great selection but I found out that they did not set the tiller height or install the draw stop pin.

As an example of how helpful Bill is, I drove up there around 9pm and they had the lights off. I knew their hours were until 10 so I walked up to the door and Mike was standing there talking with Bill. It was obvious that they were closing early but I really wanted to get some lane time. Bill invited me in and turned on all the lights. I shot for an hour and left at 10. Amazing.

Their prices are usually the MSRP so it is a little more expensive than the online sights even with shipping but I have more than made up for that in free lane time, free bow work and helpful instruction.

I highly recommend them and will continue to spend my money there.

A few years back I put a bow on consignment there and never heard anything for about 6 months so I stopped by to get any info. Turns out that they didn't have my bow or any paperwork. So I guess I was out some money or an old bow. They really didn't seem to care so I just took the loss and my business elsewhere. Now I only visit Gary up at Riverside Archery in Mt. Vernon.

I can see how that could happen since they are not very organized when it comes to paperwork but I am surprised you left your bow for 6 months without getting a receipt from them. Don't you have to sign a consignment agreement that states what price you will accept? That really sucks that you have to swallow the loss.
