It probably depends on if the weasel is trying to get your livestock, like chickens. I don't know, though what you do on your own property is your business.... :twocents:

Yes, a rat trap is specifically exempted from the law banning bodygripping traps. There is a season on weasels but on your own land you do not need a license and outside of the season you can trap problem furbearing animals or unclassifed wildlife without a permit. Key word is "problem" If they are bothering or endangering livestock, pets or property you're good to go.

Thanks I'm waiting for my test result. But the video were the guy made a box from a fence board got me started. I hope I can get out to meet or listen to others first. then maybe when the season open if I feel ready I'll go for it.

Yea got word I passed. Now just need to find the time learn and gather tools. Should be fun.

If you can possibly get to John Day, OR this weekend there will be lots of supplies and experienced trappers to talk to at the NTA convention. Didn't see weasel trapping on the agenda, but there will be plenty of brains to pick and other demos.
