Title: armor tech hd ??
Post by: blacktailcrzy on May 30, 2011, 08:14:32 PM: i am looking at this sight and i think i might get it for my new hoyt maxxis but i am just wondering if any one have had any problems with it or is there another sight i should also consider. thanks

Post by: sebek556 on May 30, 2011, 08:59:08 PM: have one on my monster 7.0, for about 3 months now have not had any problems, pins are easy to see with out being to bright.I do keep the bow in a tight fitting ska case when not shooting including transport.

Post by: ashersdad on May 30, 2011, 09:17:42 PM: I shoot one. I have had it on my bow for almost a year now. I have tried a lot of different sights and this one is by far the best one I have seen. It is super tough and easy to use. I am not the easiest on my bow and it is always dead on now mater how bad my bow gets bounced around. It is well worth the money you will not be sorry :twocents:

I'm in the same boat. It's an awesome sight, but it's now sitting in my drawer; I bought a single pin slider to try and haven't looked back. That was personal preference not sight quality related, though.

Same here. I started with a one pin years ago (sight-master) an then I shot various HHA one pins for the longest time. A few years back I switch to a Spot Hogg multi pin and now the armor tech. I am missing my one pins but like you it has nothing to do with the sight quality..the armortech is awesome!!

Which slider do you guys reccomend? I'm not gonna go with a shur-loc type sight because it will be on a back up hunting bow also.

Post by: DBHAWTHORNE on June 01, 2011, 06:47:32 PM: It has never been a problem for me. I am a treestand whitetail hunter and usually hunt areas where shots are limited to 40 yards or less. I personally don't shoot at animals beyond 40 yards anyway. 90% of the shots I have ever taken are less than 30 yards (most 17-22 yards). If I set my one pin at 23 yards I have no problem being in the kill zone out to 30 yards. If the deer is beyond that and things are hectic I probably wouldn't be getting a shot with a multi-pin sight either so it is pretty much a wash. I would imagine guys hunting in more open terrain and taking longer shots, or hunting animals that are more mobile may have issues with this type of setup...I don't have any experience with any of that.

I hunt the on the ground in open stuff often enough to know the single pin slider works just fine. I leave mine at 30 and only move it if I need to. If you want to shoot at something much farther than that, then you have to have a totally relaxed animal, and there's plenty of time to move the sight. If a deer is edgy or moving at all at 40, then there's no shot then and likely not going to be, so you'd be in the same boat with a multi-pin. If the deer is moving toward you from say 200, and you expect to shoot at 35, then you set the sight at 35 and wait. I was worried about missing opportunities, but it hasn't happened yet. My slider is a Tru Glo Range Rover I got on AT classifieds for $30.
