Been shooting for a while now but i decided by hunt this year. I shoot a mathew legacy with full metal jackest. I have yet to find a broad head that fly good. I have shot the montec, sonic (good but to brittle), and the strikers. NO LUCK, don't know if I just need to adjust more but i have yet to get an even OK group with any. i can see my arrow fly weird and just not happy. I'm tired of spending money only to be let down. Any help would be awesome! sorry for the spelling ;)

I like Slick Tricks but would also recommend shuttle t's.
-
Yeah..... ya just need to do some tuning. paper tuning, walk-back, etc. and make sure you are shooting the correct spined arrows for your specs.
The broadheads are magnifying the fact that your bow is not quite right. Some will magnify it less. Some way more!

SLICK TRICKS :yeah:
-
SHUTTLE T'S
-
I think some fine tuning would cure your problem. I'd be glad to help you out
-
I would start with this G5 Arrow Squaring Tool
(https://hunting-washington.com/smf/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.wyverncreations.com%2Fimages%2FG5ArrowStraighteningTool.jpg&hash=d0958a2cb6dbad066bd484202cae126a60ef1507)
It does wonders for broad head flight
-
i shoot shuttle T's and love them also you may want to try wac ams they shoot really good also
-
I also like the shuttle T's but haven't put them in an animal yet. Just been shooting at the target and it flies just like the practice tips.
-
I use wac'ems they fly just like my field tips with out any adjustment. :twocents:
-
have you shot through paper with your broadheads?

If you are shooting all of those brands of broadheads and nothing is going right then something has to be wrong with your setup. I like Shuttle T and Montec and have never had issues with flight on any of them when everything is correct.
-
Tune the bow, better go to a quality pro shop like maybee XXX archery . Its not the broadheads.
-
I agree with what has been said. Take you setup to a quality shop and get it tuned and any broadhead should shoot well for you.
-
Terminal T Locks seem to be flying great. Really excited to use them this year.
-
I started shooting Razor Trick great little broadhead. Good luck!
-
Try 100 gr wasp boss 3 blade... seriously deadly !!!!
-
i just had my bow tuned at XXX archery last week. it shoots really good with field points. Cory at XXX is the one that told me about Slick Tricks and had pics of his monster buck the proved to me that they make a HUGE hole. just not real sure where to go from here. maybe I will go talk to the guys at XXX again and try to find out whats up. thanks for the help guys.
-
Slick Tricks or shuttle T's both fly amazingly well. With broadheads, tuning is everything.
-
You could have a spine issue then willipa, Or form issue, possibly a timing issue? :dunno: google broadhead tuning.

Really!! Take everything back to them so they can shoot it . Im sure they will get it squared away.

Sounds like a little bit of tuning is in order. I'd start with paper tuning then move to walk back tuning. Broadheads will magnify everything that's not adjusted right especially in wind.
-
Slick tricks and wac'ems are my favorite but I still tune the broadhead to the arrows. If your broadhead and arrow don't spin like a top they will not fly good.
-
If your bow is tuned correctly and your are shooting the correct spined arrow. It will shoot just about any broad head out there!
The broad head is not the problem...
download the Eastons tuning guide and learn to do it yourself. You will never regret it ;)
Good Luck,

You stated that you can't get your broadheads to fly well, and that the ones you are using are britle...I will not try and be a archery pro here, and only offer this advice if you're looking for a new broadhead...Try VPA's Terminators. They are machined out of a solid piece of steel, so they are not cast or welded...making them extremely tough...I shoot the 100 grn heads out of my compound (and the 160 glue on's from my recurve) and I have found the 100 grain heads shoot to vertually the same point at my field points...but that is in my bow, my set up, and my shooting style...again, not to "armchair" you to death...just to answer your question, I highly recomment VPA's Terminator series heads...you can find them on the web, and they are American made (just another bonus).

can't go wrong with the Shuttle or Terminal - T's :) Never had an issue with them .. Just make sure you tune them to your bow when you sight in
-
Tuning, tuning, tuning. Go to your local bow maintenance guy for help.
-
you could go out to ranier archery or the skookumchuck archers club you will leave one of those places all squared away
-

I tryed a diffrent arrow today and the slick tricks flew GREAT!! So i went to XXX archery today and talked to them. maybe to heavy of a spine first time around. so we re-tuned and my bow shoots great! i actually robin hooded 2 arrows today on at 30 an one at 25 so i guess I'm shooting better spendy but better.
-
Here is 100gr. wasp boss which you can see theblades are still in tack ... passed clean threw an elks shoulder blades at about 60 yrds.. using a 70 lb mathews bow ..I have never had a blade fall out to break .. these are the tuffest broadheads known to man .. as you can see the blades rolled over BUT NEVER BROKE and the bloodtrail was unbelievable ...25 yrs hunting with wasp !!!

Good to hear things worked out. Now you should be able to shoot just about any BH you want. Poor tuning is probably the biggest cause of accuracy issues. Learn to do that and you should always enjoy good shooting.
Best of luck you this season!

Pick a diffrent dot if you are shooting under 40 :yike: That adds up :yike:

Glad to hear Cory has you shooting well. However, make sure you do some shooting in the wind and rain before heading after the hairy creatures. You are shooting a rather heavy arrow which usually means some FOC issues with todays more popular broadheads including Slick Trick. FOC and straight fletch are the two biggest mistakes guys are making with broadhead tipped arrows today. Shooting in the wind and rain will reassure you performance in the field will remain consistant.
