Cool pics. I miss running hounds on cats and bear. I had a dozen plotts/walkers back when I was a teenager. Once they banned us they all went to Idaho to family over there. They still have some of them and have offsprings from the bitches. If I ever get the chance again, I would love nothing more to have a few hounds. Love the bawl of them in the mountains. Where do you guys run your hounds. Some of my family lives up in Bonnersferry area.

Very cool pics, and your right, that bear is a pig!

I run in Spokane, Stevens and Pend Oreille counties for coon and lion,as well as Idaho when I'm lucky enough to draw a permit. I usually go down for a few dya to Northern CA to run bear with a good friend down there. I will try for another lion tag here in WA this year, if I don't get it I'll be heading down to Oregon to run Roberts!

Do you still have to sign all that paper work, the affi. stating you are the handler and own the hounds, etc? Cool deal. Good looking dogs. Can't til hunting season rolls around and hopefully you get some good hunts and share them with us.
-
Yes on the paperwork, not sure if that will change with the upcoming lion season since there are changes in the wind!

Yeah figured as much. It's good that they do that. We tracked down a guy years ago that got the cat tag for my area and he lived in lynwood and was an A.R.A.. Boy were we fuming. He got a hefty fine for falsifying his paper work. Well good luck with your pursuit and keep us posted. Wish it was still open for all, but glad to see their coming around a little.

I love the name "whisper" for a hound. Good looking dogs Machias.

She is the loudest dog I have had too! She has an amazing nose, only problem with her is she would fly into a fury if she crossed a porky track. It got to the point I couldn't free cast her for coons, every fourth or fifth time she come back jammed full of quills. I almost put a bullet in her head the last time I was so ticked off. So I sold her to a guy in Utah for $1600 and a mule saddle. Last year she was sold to a guy in NW MT. She treed several lions this past winter. :)
-
Probably a good decision to sell her, since it seems this area is just about the porcupine capital of the world.

Great photos.

I've never been on a hound hunt but it seems like it would be a total kick in the ass. I think shooting a big ol Tom Kitty after runnin his butt for a few hours would be an awesome experience.
