Anyone who has hunted this unit alot that has any advice for us would be appreciated.  I do alot of scouting each year and we plan on hunting hard for a nice bull.  What size bulls would you call average in the Alkali?  I figure any bulls over the 300" will be hard for her not to shoot.  Hopefully she doesn't expect one like my cousin "Nailbenders" record breaker bull in 09.... lol if so we will be living out there scouting this summer... Any advise is welcome even if there is part of the unit that is not worth looking at.  Thanks and good luck this year...

I would concentrate on the areas that boarder the private orchard land on the south side and don't overlook the northwest corner by Ellensburg/Kittitas. It's not going to be an easy hunt. Not very many elk in the unit. The hard part is that you could scout all summer long and find a great area only to find it closed for military maneuvers during your season. Be sure to talk to Brian Knapp, he's the biologist out there.
