How do I access it? Is there a gate on SR 504?
-
I'm making the assumption you're talking about the 3000 line through the Winston creek unit. The best way is to head out highway 12 towards mossyrock. Right after you cross Mayfield lake take a right on Winston creek rd. Stay on that road for a few miles and it will wind through some farmland. You will pass longbell rd on the left. Keep going. You'll start up a small hill with S curves through timber with a small creek on the left hand side. You'll also pass two main logging roads on the right. Right after that there's a small dip in the road and the 3000 is on the left. Straight shot from there up to Camp 9.

My bad, I see now that there is more than one 3000 road. The one I’m asking about is the E boundary of GMU 556-Touttle

I am heading up there next week, is that open for scouting?

yes. I was up there Sunday.
How far did you make it up the 3000?

I too am curious about where the snow is. When I was up there not long ago it wasn't far from the 5 way.
CP...South Toutle River Rd out of Toutle, to the 4100 line, to the 4200, turns to the 4250 about the 6 mile, takes you right to the 3000
Hope that helps.

I was up there today and snow level was just a mile or so past 5 corners. Can't wait for it too melt, would like to get farther down the 3000 and do some scouting.

Went up yesterday the snow is mostly gone.went as far as spud MT ,quite a few people on qwads though running down the mudflow unit side of the 3000 rd.there must be other hunting going on down there.I was draw for archery bull but it looks as busy as any unit I've ever hunted.
