Title: Shop in greater Seattle for .300 Savage appraisal?
Post by: Bob300 on June 08, 2008, 09:46:37 PM: I'd like to get my .300 Savage appraised for value, have the barrel condition graded, etc. Can anyone recommend a shop in the greater Seattle area? Thanks.

Post by: bankwalker on June 08, 2008, 11:06:17 PM: butches is an ok place...they will give you the price they would pay for it though. i dont know if they woudl give you an actual value of the gun. i know i sold them a rifle last year and they told me it was only worth $97...then i went back in there and they have it for $190. so yeah...

make sure you ask for the actual value. if they think you wanna sell it to them they wont tell you what you wanna know.

Most places that are recognized will charge you 35-50 bucks for an appraisal that will hold up in a legal battle. You will also have to pay them to testify if it comes to that.
I know a guy in Olympia, that has won court cases. Let me know if you want his name.
