Post by: lokidog on June 30, 2011, 11:23:32 PM: An awesome gift for someone is to contact your state representative (I think), and request a flag be flown over the US capitol. You can usually request a certain date like a birthday. We got one flown for my dad's 70th B-day, he was thrilled, even though "our" current pres was not his choice. I think he said "best gift ever" with a tear in his eye. :tup:

It was an awesome thing to see the huge flag flying in the wind. I made sure I told the owners that their flag is what made us stop at their fruit stand over all the others in the area.

Post by: goosegetter79 on July 09, 2011, 11:08:58 AM: Wish I had gotten a picture of it but in Butte this weekend there was a field of honor and it had over 300 flags in it. It was pretty neat to see. It was for fallen soldiers and you paid $75 to have a flag put up in memory of a soldier and all proceeds went to charities. I did however find there facebook page.
