I may have to go kill a couple display mounts.

Do you have any pics of a Hybrid Mouflon Sheep? What is the difference between a Hybrid Mouflon and a European Mouflon? I have always wanted to get a European Mouflon.
-
Pretty cool Carp. I'll have to gander at a couple of those species as I've never seen them.
-
Thanks guys...

I will try to dig out a picture later today, for some reason my computer is not letting me open any doc's or even spell check on here. Not sure what is up. The hybrid looks like a mouflon with the dark body and white saddle on there back. They are not as tall and big as a mouflon but still have the same colors and horn type as the mouflon.

same as a regular one they have to call it hybrid do to leagal reasons

On this ranch do these mouflon have horns that flare out or curl up? I really want one that curls up.

Wow, that is tempting! Very tempting!! Where in Oregon is the Camp? Or how long of a drive from central WA?
-
There are 3 types of horn configurations in the hair sheep breeds like the mouflon and dalls and such. They are polycerate which is multiple horns like the jacobs sheep. Supracervical horns are the horns that true blood mouflons have with horns that often make the heart shape. Then there is the common homonymous that is found on the breeds like dalls ans corcian and other that so the cork screw twist. Yes I know about sheep :chuckle: I raise horned hair sheep  Most of the time the hybrid rams will be a corkscrew configuration.

Can these hunts be done year round?
-
I've talked with several people that have been hunting on this place and have not heard any bad comments. I've run the idea of going down there and taking a few animals for Shop Display.
I know a couple people that have taken their kids down there on hunts with them or for the kids to hunt.
-
Yes year round hunting. No licenses needed
-
Just went through the wildlife safari in Winston Oregon and seen my first Watusi bull up close and ive got to have a set of those horns on my wall. Googled a hunt for one and this sight came up, funny I'm a member of HW, but never seen this forum yet. Wondering what kind of bulls you have to offer.

Is this the old clover creek ranch ?
-
sounds alot like clover ckeek :dunno: been there once for hog hunt lots of critters around. want to wait for carp to tell us if it is the same place :)
-
I'm thinking it is the old clover creek ranch, a buddy of mine just took his wife and daughter on an Oregon Dall sheep hunt there last month, both got nice rams and had a blast! I can't find any info about hunting on a split diamond ranch, just info about bull breeding.
-
Split diamond outfitters is my operation that I own. I run my own guided hunts. I do not have a website up yet and just market on forums like this. I am also a booking agent for many outfitters in and out of the states. This operation is the new clover creek. It just changed hands and I have been working on starting a relationship with the new owner. I have yet to do business with him. It costs everyone the same money to book threw me. There is no extra fees and you pay the same as if you booked threw the outfitter. I do not list my outfitters in my listings because people just tend to go around me. Even though it saves them nothing and doesn't help me out. If you have a question about the operation its best to pm me for the business name.
-
Carpsniperg2, I was just curious about this ranch as I have hunted it before. In no means was it a way to find out so I could by pass you to book a hunt. I have a video of the place which I could send to you if you're interested to help you out.
-
Oh I understand you guys were not the ones I worry about. It's the guy that finds this when he is searching for a hunt on the net. It just happens that this time it was a member. Then they just read threw finds the outfitters name and goes threw them. Thinking it will save him money, when it doesn't. Plus it doesn't help me. Thanks for the offer to share your vid with me.
-
Are these do it yourself hunts or guided? Also, what type of hunting is it, spot and stalk or stand? This seems like it could be a fun trip with my kids.
