Going to be hunting a whopping 2 miles from place, and have a camera set up.   Went and rebaited the sight, and swapped SD cards out :IBCOOL:  Had another full card   Here are some of the pics from the set up.

Kinda wierd. No fawns at all. Most of the Does look like they are still pregnant. That's pretty late. Other then that they all look healthy and looks like you have yourself a great spot. Good luck .

Guys I am in GMU 410 (any deer   )  There is a lot of fawns running around just havent gotten any on the trail cam yet.  And yes you can tell by some of the nipples that either there about to drop or already have and are still wet nursing.  I wont be using that slide bt will be within 50 yards of it in a tree facing the other way.  THe treen line next to the slide is the property line where Uber Greenies live :bash: I plan on hitting the deer as they walk the towards the other property line. There is trail they use and seem to not deviate from.  Cant wait for archery season to start.

If you have that many does coming in I'd buy a modern tag and whack one of their boyfriends with archery equipment during the rut.  I used to do it all the time when I lived in Thurston county years ago, keep the does kenneled up with apples and take out the big boys when they are dumb.  Good luck with whatever you do :)

Same property, different area where I plan on putting my treestand.  I have been placing bate every 4 days now, and will contiune until the Season starts.  My lab was in one of the pics, lots of wild quail running around So I take my labs when I place new bait.  They love going there :IBCOOL:

Set my stand up today on the property, and did a few practice shots from it.  Sorry for the picture quality it was taken with my POS Samsung. I made a Donkey(showing my support for liberals :chuckle:) target out of foam and used that to shoot at.  Found out I need some serious practice.  Its a lot harder to shoot at elavted levels from sitting to standing to twisting.

Seth, nice pics... as far as the strap goes, make sure you have enough slack in it to move around comfortably, but not too much... just in case!  It should not make much noise if adjusted correctly.

If you have a modern firearm tag, then you can use archery equipment during the MF season.  (or a multi-season tag) If you have an archery tag you are limited to archery equipment in the archery season only....

I like the idea of the donkey target may be able to market the idea its an election year, and the more of those donkeys we get out of office I think the better we will be.

While you're at it, include a few fat-welfare-mamma targets for the beginners.  Easier to hit.

PLease dont tell us you are going to shoot that doe with the two fawns. If so you are killing at least three deer by killing that doe.  :bdid:

Why dont you just hunt the rifle season with archery equipment and hit the rut? Pretty much guaranteed you will get a buck with those does running around.

Plenty of does in my thread that dont have fawns, and can't use modern on this property, and I dont have a multi season tag :twocents:

You CAN!!! use Archery equiptment during modern firearm season "THE RUT"you DO NOT have to use a firearm unless
you already got your archery tag :dunno:

Exactly! Especially with the set up you have. You should absolutely purchase a mod firearm tag and hunt with your bow during the rut (last week of Oct).
I didnt mean to assume that you were going to shoot one of the does with the fawns. I will shoot a doe towards the end of the season if she is dry.

Ok did some data inputs to find my best time at ambushing a deer  This data was taken from my camera times, and only one time was recorded per deer. IE a deer sets off my camera 47 times in a set, only 1 time is taken vs the 47 of that one deer in a few minutes.

Apparently waiting till the modern season has not quite sunk in.  Not sure you understand that a bow is considered a modern weapon!  If you have not bought your archery tag you can wait till late October or 3rd weekend in Nov. to kill a buck that will be chasin your pretty does.  Something tells me that you're so jacked to shoot anything that October is far far too long to wait.   A doe is a good place to start and still good eatin anyway.  Just wait for one that doesnt have milk on its lips or a little one with milk on its lips running closely behind.

after reading all these posts ...all I can tell ya is hunt with whatever you want and whenever you want ...it is very obvisious your excited to get after it and thats what it is all about bud !!! once you have killed many then you can get picky but till then whack & stack all you can ...plus you have stated you would not kill a doe with fawns and I like that Idea...I also can not believe there is no bucks coming into your set up ...thats strange ...I know there are many over there .....whack the biggest - fattest doe you can .....I am all in for ya !!  :yeah:

Really surprised that you do not have bucks coming in... they have to be there somewhere... but I would whack the first big doe!  The bucks I have here are already nocturnal.... and won't be coming out during legal hunting until the rut.  I won't be after a blacktail till the last few days of the season since I will concentrating on elk until it closes.  Pretty confident I will fill both my deer tags and my kids will fill there's also!  Their's will be first, I get a much bigger thrill out of them getting their deer, so they get first shots.

I plan on getting one of those dry does that keep posing for the camera on opening day/weekend :chuckle: One of the pics I have from the camera has little buttons on his head, and I almost didnt notice them unitl I blew the pic up, other than that about 20 different does and fawns on that property.  My main goal is filling the freezer this year before I rotate back to sea duty
