I just found out my Dad drew and antlerless tag for 660 Minot Peak. We've never really hunted that unit so I was hoping someone could give me and decent idea of where to start scouting. I'd like to access it from the North/Northeast if possible. Thanks all.

Go to the town of montesano take a left on the raymond highway and cross the bridge over the chelais and go till you see a road up the hill on the left and your in the minot peak unit there are deer right up behind the nuck site.

When I was in high school I used to spend a bunch of time up there. Used to take the western Elma exit and head out across the river and up into the hills. Sounds like it would be the entrance you are looking for. I think the Weyerhaeuser Twin Harbors North tree farm map would cover the area, though I don't have it handy right now to check.
I never had a hard time finding does. Bucks were a bit tougher to come by, as in most units, but you shouldn't have any trouble filling those tags. It should be fun!

Thanks for the starting points. I'll have to call Weyerhaeuser and check restrictions then go check it out in a few weeks to get a little scouting in. Maybe stumble on a bear too!

There's a lot of DNR land in the east side of that unit too. I wouldn't worry about calling Weyerhaeuser. It should be open unless fire danger gets bad. Try going in on Delezene Road, which is off South Bank Road. You can access both the state land and the Weyerhaeuser from there.
