I was under the impression that all areas were open for muzzle loader season, however looking at the regs it looks like some areas are not open for muzzy season, such as mason county...is this a fact or a miss print....I am most likely going to still be deployed but on the off chance I am home I was thinking I would just hunt local i the reqs are right that is out....
thanks

Generally, muzzy GMU's are listed as to which are open. Not all are open. I'd follow your regs.

Only certain GMU's are open for muzzleloader, not all. But in Mason county, for early season, the Skokomish unit is open (636). And for late season, Satsop (651) and Mason (633) are open.

Mason isn't open for general ml season..... It is for late though..... think late was 21 days long last year in early demember...... You got time.....

Some areas do not have muzzle seasons.

Few years back when I was making the transition from rifle to muzzleloader I had access to a chunk of land in 127. When I noticed there wasn't a muzzleloader season I figured I'd call WDFW and find out why and see if there was any plans on changing that in the near (or far) future. The reason I was given was that they didn't feel like there was a dense enough population of deer to sustain all three seasons and since the muzzleloaders are the smallest demographic of hunters, that season got the axe. I politely called B.S. asking them if they had spent any time in the unit lately and done any counts. Didn't get an answer to that question.
