Join us as Tyson Drevniak and Daniel Duncan head to Montana in an effort to take some nice mule deer.
Let us know what you think of the hunt. We are looking for feedback so that we can make changes and produce the best hunts that we can.
We will also be giving away a Havalon Piranta Edge to the person who can come closest to the combined score of these two bucks. Please post your combined score in this post with your feedback and you will automatically be entered.

Great videos Jason, makes me want to pack up and head to Montana! Commentary was good. Only suggestion I would have is during the wrap-up at the end where you 3 are sitting, maybe a little more relaxed, not so "staged". Just my :twocents:
Oh and the winning score ...... 302 ;)
-
good video's my guess is 305.
-
Oh yeah, forgot to mention we will announce the winner on Friday the 15th at 6:00 at night.
-
Very cool footage. Looks like Northeast MT(?) I swear that looks like a spot I hunted a couple of years ago...of course a lot of eastern Montana all looks the same, but I think I recognize the pointy knob in the first video.
Made me sad that I didn't put in this year... :(
Looks like you guys picked up some sheds too.
Oh, and the combined score looks about 280 5/8"...
-
Score of 287 5/8 :dunno:
-
275. Great job on the videos. They were fun to watch.

-
Very Cool!!! 275 4/8"
-
289 total. Looks like the Larb Hills south of Saco.
The acoustics at the final scene were hollow sounding. Otherwise, nice video.
-
Wea300mag 290-3/8"
That bent horn one might make my guess a little off though :chuckle:
Nice videos!!!
-
I am going to go with 283".
The film looks great, since I know you are looking for feedback I will give you a little that I could find. I am sure you guys are using tripods in some of the shots. It seemd like the camera is getting a lot of side to side movements, not sure if its just the wind on those hunts or if the cam isnt locked down as tight. I would maybe look at getting a smaller tripod if you guys don't have one for those times when you guys can't use the big ones. Its great film and you guys are getting some great hunts.
-
Thanks for comments and keep the guesses coming.
These havalon knives are amazing.
-
Hey Jason, I thought I would offer you something I don't think anyone else mentioned, I had to move the volume up and down when I was watching, when you edit, you might try making the whispers louder and the music a little quieter, that might make it easier to hear the show without moving the volume during the video. You probably already knew that, but if not I hope it helps!
I'll guess 268 on the bucks!
-
great video,
272" is my guess
-
273 is my guess. Thanks for the opportunity.
-
Spent a little more time watching the video. I would echo the comments concerning the sound volume variation. The only other suggestion I would make is the scene where the cameraman is following the hunter down the slope. It would be better to use a tripod and utilize the zoom a little more. Making a steady video while walking on uneven ground is next to impossible and watching the video in full screen amplifies that. Watching it on a bigger screened TV will amplify it even more. My daughter told me it made her feel like when she got seasick on the boat :chuckle: :chuckle: I didn't think it was that bad but it might if viewed on a larger screen. Other than that great video and look forward to seeing others!
Gross score of bucks combined: 272 and 4/8
-
281 3/8
-
Love the video great hunting country. my guess is 289 5/8
-
Thanks for the comments guys that is exactly what we are looking for.
We have critiqued ourselves and the audio volume and always using a tripod (well as much as possible) are our two biggest issues.
We just need to make sure that we implement these changes and make next years stuff better.
-
Good footage, enjoyed 308 7/8" Gross
-
Great videos, and loved the looks of the country.
287 3/8
-

-

Time's UP! Time to announce the winners. In Jason's original post, he didn't mention whether or not we were going by gross or net score. So therefore, the best solution was to give out a knife to the guess closest to BOTH!
Gross score combined: 280 1/8..which makes Pathfinder101 the winner.
Net score combined: 267 7/8..which makes bearpaw the winner.
If you guys can contact Jason with your mailing addresses we'll get those knives on their way as soon as possible!
Thanks for all the feedback and guesses, we've had a lot of fun putting these videos together. Hope you all enjoy!

Cool deal...to bad for Amber13 because if we were playing by "The Price is Right" rules she would have nudged out Bearpaw.
-
Good videos!
Constructive criticism "may" include a bit steadier hand when panning, you showed a lot of deer which is a plus. I have no idea what it is like to do what you do, but I'm guessing the sponsors may see more value if during the video you were more obvious on what equipment you were using :dunno:
Also, I think emotion sells. Don't be afraid to show it, no need to be reserved when showing excitement. :twocents:
-
i guess i should of been more specific on my guess . i only missed the gross by 1/8. nice video guys and thanks for sharing.
-
thanks for the video, the 280 range should be it with the video we saw for gross. thanks for sharing

-
Need a good tripod for camera

I agree. Let me talk it over with the crew. We will be at a 3D shoot today and figure it out.

When reviewing all the scores, I didn't know how to take "280 range", did it mean 280 right on the nose? did it mean 280-289? I just didn't know how to take the word "range." But as Jason said we'll discuss it as a group today at the shoot and decide what we wanna do. Sorry for all the confusion. :sry:
-
Guess what? I need to go back to school on how to make a guess the score contest. :o
Anyways the good news is we are going to give all three of you Havalon knives. :IBCOOL:
Two Havalon Piranta Edge's and one Havalon Piranta Whitetail. I used the highly scientific method of letting my little boy pick a name out of the hat and Bearpaw (Dale) will receive the Whitetail knife, while pathfinder and Benchleg will ge the edge.
pathfinder, Bearpaw, and Benchleg I will send you PM's requesting shipping addresses.
Thanks for participating. We will be doing more giveaways in the future. We look forward to the support and feedback hunting-washington provides.
-
thanks for the news jason. you are stand-up guys :hello: keep up the good work on the videos.
-
Thanks Jason. Looking forward to the knife. Can't wait to see more of your work!

Awesome hunting video, One thing I think you should add is a story behind the hunt to make it more interesting. Your viewers should feel like they were there with you in Montana after watching your video. You should give your viewers a little clips of what happend before, during and after behind the scenes inbedded within your actual hunts. This way your reciever will remember more of we can tell the story to a friend which in return, generate more viewers. Thanks for posting this video. I cant wait to head to montan this year.
My guess score of both bucks is.....276
