So yesterday I picked ....It is brand new and was still strapped in the box with the zip ties......The guy had bought it for grouse and then never got out to hunt for them. I got this for the exact same purpose so hopefully i am rewarded with some grouse this year....I also live 2 minutes away from the Ebey Is. pheasant release site so I may try over there this year also......I know a single shot is not the most effective for Pheasant but I will give it a go...I used to get them over on the east side with my single 20 all the time.

Yup... Six guns from an estate sale... grand total: $640 :rockin:

Not quite doing that good.....Got the Ruger .41 for $300.00 and the H&R 20 ga fo0 ......At least now I am little more prepared for what i wanna do this year.....before last year, it had been 10+ yrs since I hunted...

Thanks NW-GSP.....I may take you up on that offer.......I can hear shooting from over there all the time during the pheasant and duck season so I would love to find a place thats close and productive.....

I don't know if it counts as a buying spree but I once went into sportsman warehouse if Federal Way to get a sleeping bag, came out with a few new t shirts, some jerky, some lemon drops (my dad loves them) and a new browning 338 X bolt. It didn't dawn on me that I forgot the sleeping bag till I got home that night.

When I took my sniper model H&K 91 in to sell it I wound up trading it for all brand new Browning BAR .300 win mag Safari grade, Leupold VXIII 4.5X14 scope, 10 boxes of ammo, hard case, cleaning kit, 2 extra magazines a Sig P226, hard case, cleaning kit, 10 boxes of ammo, 2 extra magazines, holster, and som misc various other stuff. He has going to give me $2,600 in cash but I wound up getting around $3,000 in guns and stuff. I'm getting ready to go on a big fishing gear shopping spree to stock up on lures, line hooks and other misc small tackle.

My wife says I've been on a buying spree that started right after the last presidential election. I keep telling her ITS NOT ME!!! It's the guns! They are breeding uncontrollably in the safe! There is nothing we can do about it. My next large purchase will be another safe. Hopfully that doesn't just compound the problem, but I fear that it may.

Castle et al,
Remember to buy ammo. You, like me, probably have a lifetime supply of guns in the safe already--but maybe only a few years... or even a few hours worth of ammo. :twocents:

I have one of those H&R 20's in my safe. Great gun for throwing behind the seat in the pick-up during early archery season. Hate it when your heading hunting and see a thunder chicken and you don't have the shot gun. Works good on starlings too. :chuckle:

I went into a gun show back in St. Louis one time mainly to pickup some reloading supplies. I had waaaaaaaay too much cash on me and walked out with a S&W 629, Mini-14 and that same exact 20 ga. you have pictured. And no reloading supplies.

I think we all suffer from the same a addiction.... "Well I don't really need it, But it is a really good deal........"
My worst one was the same thing, had some spare cash (As if there is such a thing) Went to an Estate auction. Made the mistake of taking my father, ended up leaving with S&W model 59 (175.00),Xd-m 40cal (250.00), Hawkens 50cal (95.00), Remington Sp-10 (300.00), Blackhawk 44 (275.00), 10-22 (100.00),S&W 500 (375.00) :IBCOOL:. In the end I believe we bought a total of 12 guns a bunch of reloading consumables including 17lbs of HS6 for 85.00. It really was allot of fun other than paying the bill after my dad got a hold of the biding card. :bdid: I think he raised the price on himself at least 3 times... :dunno:
