I haven't been in the Margaret in about 10 years and I need to re-acquaint myself before this fall. I understand most of it is gated and definitely gated during fire season. I am thinking of getting down there this next weekend. As far as closed gates, is there any advantage to going now versus later in the summer? Or is everything locked up now? Does the main line (2500 I think) stay open until fire closure?
Thanks for any help.

They are all locked. Weyco only opens during hunting season and there are still no guarantees. They dont just let people drive around in the offseason to scout. Better bring a bike.

That's what I needed to know, I'll go this summer and pack my bike, thanks for the help. Now I can go fishing...

Hey Camo,
I have a cow tag in the Margaret unit this fall and will also need to get in there and do some scouting. Let me know if you want to hook up.
